No it would not be suitable for ducks they need to get their whole beaks in the water hope this helps jenny

Q: Can I put these in a dishwasher?

I suppose you could I would just clean with soapy water

Q: If I am getting 4 chickens are these the correct size drinker feeder?

We have six chicken and they serve them very well, obviously they need refilling every few days or so but there is plenty of room for all to peck from the feeder 

Q: Are these a brittle plastic? Previously found some types crack very easily

They didn't crack but water one tended to empty very quickly by itself ?
