Ontario Knives 6143 M-9 Bayonet Fixed Blade Knife with Black Handle & Blade

This is a big, heavy, sturdy piece of kit, and may replace my favorite gerber as the go to field tool. We shall see after some testing. Includes hard sheath, with wire cutter and belt mount. Good stuff, way better than the original ar bayonets I remember from the early eighties.

The bayonet seems to be built well, and is plenty strong enough to stab old tires with. It mounts securely on an A2, with very little wiggle/rattle. The saw teeth are useless unless you're willing to file/re-profile the area. The blade itself sharpens easily, but is held back by the wide cross section of the knife body. The wire cutting slot in the sheath is appropriately sized for cutting individual wires, up to about 12 gauge and cuts fairly well.

The M9 fixed blade knife is a full tang knife which has been issued to U.S. military personnel who see combat. As this bayonet can be attached to either the U.S. military M4 as a bayonet and also Mossberg 590 A1 which can also have the M9 attached to the end of the barrel via the bayonet lug. Attaching a bayonet is of course when one would be required to engage in CQB.This knife is a great quality knife as there are other features in which can be performed by using the knife and the sheath. If you are looking for a good CQB knife for a SHTF situation or for going out camping. This M9 is a great choice as it has been tested and placed through the fire while in combat and passed the military standards and chosen to be the knife to be issued to fighting soldiers and Marines.

Good quality knife, but does not fit a Mossberg 590A1. Had to send it back to shipper thanks to the manufacturer changing the specs. I called Mossberg to verify they hadn't changed their shotguns, and they hadn't. It's a shame because I really liked the quality and the feel of the knife blade. Had to go with another cheaper bayonet to make it work, and it fit like a glove. Not sure if it has the same issues with other rifles, but if you're buying it for the same shotgun I have, then buyer beware. Some grinding will get it to work, but then you lose your resale value later. Thanks but no thanks.

SHEATHE DOES NOT COME WITH BELT ATTACHMEMT. can not carry on belt. It has it in picture. Customer service just said picture was a mistake would change it. However they have not. It is really hard and I have been unable to order the belt attachment. The knife is not bad
