Great oatcakes. No wheat.
Loved oatcakes. Similar to crackers. Ate as snack plain and with all sorts of toppings with meals - jam, cheese, ate with salads and brisket, etcShipped in bag, damaged box and broken crackers.

My favorite oat cakes
These were a staple in my diet when I lived in Scotland. I'm so happy to have found them on Amazon, and at a reasonable price. This brand makes a variety of oatcakes. I like the texture of these rough ones best. Healthy, filling and delicious !

Stale - As Sold by This Venodr
This is a good product but the vendor who sold it did not take proper care of it in storage. Every packet was stale on arrival, in a way they should not have been. They were bitter..

Not as good as Stockans, but tasty nonetheless
I decided to try Stockans Oatcakes - the thick version - mostly out of curiosity, as they sounded like the sort of thing I would like. Indeed, I do like them, quite a bit, I've never had a biscuit/savory cake quite like them. Only possible critique is that they are just on the verge of being a bit "oily" - not quite all the way there, but almost. Now I intend to try several other kinds of oatcake, and this was the first. The Stockans are a bit richer, a bit softer, and a bit heavier than these Nairns, which are more like a heavy cracker. These are good too, but they are a bit drier and less flavorful. As such, while I can have the Stockans on their own, these are better with a spread of some kind - preferably something with some moisture to it. A pack of these would make a decent breakfast, if paired with coffee or tea.You get pretty good value for your money with these, despite the premium you pay compared to typical crackers. Worth trying, at least. So I would recommend these, if you like wheat or oat crackers, as they are more substantial than your usual offerings and better able to take and accompany a spread. However, if you specifically want oat cakes, the Stockans Thick Oatcakes (ASIN: B00KX9QEE4) are the better way to go.

like in the shetland book series
I love these! I kept reading about oat cakes in the Shetland book series and thought I would try them. This was my second order. They are subtle inn flavor, but great with butter or cheese. Oats are better for me than wheat, so it is healthier too!

Box dated 10+ months old, rancid tasting, and at least 1/3 broken
I LOVE oatcakes and Nairns is a good brand *when they are reasonably fresh*. These were stale, tasted vaguely rancid, packaged so badly that at least 1/3 were cracked or just crumbs. Worst of all, one cannot return this to Amazon. I DO NOT recommend this product.

I LOVE THESE
I think u have to be an oatcake person, u either love them or can't understand why someone would eat bland dry oats and water pressed into a biscuit, but I love nairns!! the oat CAKES are lighter and crispier than the green box oat crackers, but I like them both, these may stick in the teeth a little less : )
