Smart design
This is a very good solution and easy to install because they provide the hardware to actually screw the bracket to the house siding. I like it's low profile, not overly noticeable from a distance. Also like the quality, overall design and effectiveness. Its a little pricey but it works!

Worked for less than a week and the birds are back.
Woodpeckers are literally putting holes in the wood right next to these. I ordered four of them to put on every corner of my shed. No luck....

I'd say 90% effective....
Because of woodpeckers, we've replace thousands of dollars in cedar siding until we started putting up these babies. You've just got to get enough of them to scare off these damn woodpeckers. So far, I've put up 5 and probably need 6 to protect the entire house. They're a little pricey but compared to cedar siding, they're reasonable.Okay, this is an update to the above. I've now got 8 of these around the house. I'd say they're about 90% effective. There seems to be this one species here in Minnesota, the Downy woodpecker, that will sometimes defy these devices, but the traffic and damage has been slight since all 8 have been installed.

Woodpeckers problems
This product worked fantastic for me. The very hour I put it up the woodpeckers disappeared. Could not ask for a better product for woodpecker problems.

Nice try, but no cigar
Very expensive for hanging bling. I was too lazy to post a photo of the woodpeckers sitting right next to the damned thing. Does not work, at least for the type of woodpeckers I have around here. I instead bought bird netting and hung it over the windows (not all of them, just the main window they were pecking). While it was a pain to hang the netting, it worked beautifully. And the woodpeckers somehow also stayed away from adjacent, un-netted windows that they had been pecking at as well.

Worked for rock pigeons
We had a pair of pigeons living in a nook of our deck when we moved in, but when we realized they had eggs we let them be. They had two in the brood and together the 4 made a ridiculous mess of poop over their nook in the deck, patio below, stairs, railing, etc. We knew once the young were flying we needed them gone, early enough in fall they could rehome. This reflective windmill contaption did the trick. After their first few flights, we hung this up and within 2 days the birds went from 24/7 having at least 1 in there, to completely vacating the nest. So this was very effective for pigeons at our house.

Not working as stated
Woodpecker is not alarmed by this. The woodpecker used it to perch on and continued pecking the logs

Damaged siding from woodpecker
We had a woodpecker that was damaging the side of our home. We have cedar siding and the bird had made over 20 holes of various size, some all the way through the wood. We tried various things to deter the bird but it kept returning. I bought this in hopes that it would keep the bird away and it worked! There has been nothing since we hung it up. I'm very pleased it worked so well.
