Great Pencils For Back To School, Work or Home!
As an accountant I am always in need of pencils and dislike sharpening pencils so I usually but the mechanical ones. I have tried several different brands of mechanical pencils over the years and came across these while shopping and purchased them as an add-on item. I really love these pencils! These came in a box of 12 Paper Mate Write Bros mechanical pencils and are listed as "assorted barrel colors". In my box I received two of each of the following barrel colors: silver, black, blue, green, red, and bluish purple. All of them were intact and in perfect working order. These mechanical pencils have 0.7 mm lead, erasers that fit snugly and do not fall out, and are #2 pencils which makes them great for standardized tests at school. The leads are really sturdy with little to no breakage with normal use and not over extending the lead. They write very smoothly with no smearing or smudging. The price was way cheaper than anywhere else for this product and the quality is great. I will be buying them again for back to school as my daughter loves them too!

Not worth it
The pencils are good until when I’m class it keeps making the squeaking noises as I write. The lead keeps breaking. The pencil itself breaks too fast

Heads-up, it's not the typical quality of a Papermate product.
I have this same brand/size pencil purchased elsewhere, but the quality of the lead is not the same. It's fine for an add-on, but not sure why it's different.

This is an average mechanical pencil and does the job. A few of the pencils had loose erasers but for the inexpensive price, this was no big deal.

Good pencils for the kid that loses them, but have some quality to them.
My daughter needed some mechanical pencils that had some sort of quality to them, but are also pretty disposable enough to lose them/give them to people that need a pencil. These are the ones I needed for her. Better quality than the BIC pencils, and the erasers are pretty good when erasing mistakes. Plus, being an add-on product makes it much more of a better purchase. Will have these in my reorder list when needed.

The lead breaks frequently. I used up a whole pencil in one chapter's worth of college algebra homework due to breaking all the leads in it. Just now, the lead broke off three times while I was trying to write down the time and date of a doctor's appointment ("10:30 Tuesday"). That's unacceptable. I won't be buying these again.

Fragile
These work ok, but the tubes break very easily.

.5mm leads break easily
Never imagined I'd whine about something like this but the skinnier leads are not as good, get the .7mm thickness or else you'll be snapping the tip off all the time like I do making notes in my schedule with the .5mm
