Pen comes with 2 ink cartridges and a converter to use with an ink bottle. With the ink cartridge, the pen wrote directly. Writing experience is super smooth, no scratching and feels effortless. Ink needs some time to dry, about 30 seconds. I like the size and weight of the pen, it is comfortable in the hand and has a quality feel to it. The silver with gold trim is a very nice colour combination, looks quite smart. I also own a Parker sonnet rollerball pen in matte black and slightly prefer the matte feel although the silver looks more impressive!

a beautiful pen to write with. the pen is comfortable to use and ink flows smoothly through nib. a quality pen that fits in the hand like a glove. Parket still one of the best pen makers around.

No complaints about how this pen writes. I am a fountain pen beginner though so don't take my word for it.It just drops a star because in the picture the stainless steel version looks more like a bead blasted, grey finish. It is in fact just standard stainless steel like any other, so more silver and shiny with a brushed finish

Used many Parker’s before - all brilliant, although this one seems a bit off. I have not used a Sonnet before, but this one does not seem to be a SonnetFeels pretty cheap for the price tag, or may be I got unlucky and got a one off wrong faulty itemNever had such experience with ParkerThe description on the advert also seems absurd, noticed it later - says 1 lithium battery required. Parker should take a note of this advert.Anyways returning it may be ordering another fountain.

Let down by the nib. It feels ever so slightly jagged scrolling across the paper, not exactly what I was expecting of a parker pen of that RRP. Will be keeping it as it was on special offer, and it's ok for everyday use.
