Cambro 918MT110 9" x 18" Black Fiberglass Market Tray

ORDERED: 10/2/2024.DELIVERED: 10/16/24.PRICE PAID: $15.99 + 1.04 tax (claiming List Price of $19.55).GOALS: I purchased this 9x18 fiberglass tray for its unique narrow dimensions. I want it to fit the accoutrements for making ones own drip coffee in a hotel room, to keep everything on a tray that would catch any spilled water. I like the narrow shape, so it can be pushed against the back of a dresser or table top in a hotel room, and still leave usable space in front.I calculated the needed dimensions to fit: an electric kettle, a stainless thermal carafe with coffee dripper, a box of filters, a bag of coffee, and assorted other little things that would prove useful to a coffee station for use in a hotel room.I can bring or lend the whole shebang in a tote bag, so my visitors staying in the hotel nearby can make their own scrumptious drip coffee in their bathrobe.There were literally no other good utilitarian and price sensible options for this 9x18 size with very little wasted "width" as compared with trays that have wide lips or handles.That said, $16 is a lot to pay for a very basic utilitarian fiberglass tray.These trays come in lots of colors and they're priced much more reasonably at restaurant stores. (Google the cambro model number.) Sadly, the shipping price, from the two restaurant stores that offer these, for 2-5 of these trays, becomes quite prohibitive, practically doubling the price of the purchase. Therefore, I was grateful to see this single tray offered at something less than the extravagant total prices I calculated elsewhere.I'd consider getting another one to use for my own coffee set up, to keep things in neat and contained toward the back of the rolling put your block cart where everything now sits. I don't want to pay the current $20+ for the white one, or $16 again for a black one, so it will probably wait until I can visit a restaurant store, where their price appropriately.It's generally a good looking black glossy fiberglass, but there is a thin edge surface that runs around the rim that is non-glossy; it almost has a sanded look. I presume this is from the manufacturing process, it's not rough or burred. There are a few rough spots or scratches, as though this item had been sitting in a stack of such items, which surely it has been in some warehouse. One shouldn't order this item if it's meant to be a 'perfect' display surface for anything other than your bakery muffins.

I'm using this for starting seeds in seed blocks. My seed blocker fits perfectly so I can easily maximize space and get as many rows as possible. Very sturdy compared to those flimsy seed starting trays you get at big box stores. I'm sure it has many uses, but it is working well for gardening!

I used this for an unconventional purpose. I purchased little adhesive roller wheels to put on the bottom so that I can use this under my dogs water bowl (which is in a bit of a tight spot) because they are sloppy drinkers. This fits perfectly, catches all their drips, and cleans easily.

Looked for something slim and long to catch Nespresso drips and blend with the black appliance. It actually looks like a black school lunch tray, isn't fancy at all, but has a little shine and is good for what I'm using it for.

Very sticky

We have a senior dog who drips a lot of water when she gets a drink. We bought this to put underneath her water and food stand. It fits great. With the lip along the side, it collects water rather than leaving puddles on the floor.
