Q: How does dryer attach to vent and sufficient length for gym shoes?

There are clips. Gym shoes should work fine

Q: any way to close off some extensions to put more air for a pair of shoes?

I cut up an old towel into small squares and stuffed up the tubes that way if I need to use I just pull them out store them by the drying rack and can easily and conveniently stuff them back in. I tried the tape which does work but then it leaves a residue on the plastic which get gross and I also have to go and find more duct tape or electrical tape in the garage (I’m all for convenience)and I’ve tried cardboard they just fall out. Cloth or paper towel works much better and is way more convenient as I can keep it by the dryer rack while in use just pop it back in when done using those particular nozzles.

Hi there, I am not sure what you mean? What dimensions are you referring to from to back of the vents? The base is 12x4 and the nozzles angle about 1.5 inches away from the bottom of the base. Hopefully that helps.

Q: Would this work for ski boots or are they too heavy?

If the one you order has extensors they will. As will any boots or shoe you will need to have them balanced on both sides. With mine if it’s one pr of boots I put them on opposite sides and ends if it is 2 pr I equally distribute the weight as well. I don’t ski so I don’t know how big, heavy your boots are. Pay close attention to the product description for the length of the vertical nozzles with extension pieces. For our winter boots, gloves and shoes they work great. I will mention that if you are not drying on every nozzle to close them off with paper towel in those unused ones to make those used nozzles work harder. We love ours.
