I really wish it worked
I can't even begin to say how much I wanted this to work but it doesn't work at all. According to the manual, as you inflate the cuff, a symbol of a beating heart appears and when it disappears you're supposed to inflate the cuff 20 more mmHg. The heart symbol NEVER appears as you pump up. You can go to 250 and it won't appear. As soon as you stop pumping then it briefly flashes on. The instrument monitors the rate at which you deflate the cuff. The manual says that you should ideally deflate it at 2-3 mmHg per second. Good luck with that! It's just about impossible to make the cuff deflate smoothly. I've never had a problem deflating a blood pressure cuff but the reading jumps to 12 then to 0.2 --- it's just about impossible to keep the deflation rate at the suggested 2-3. If you do manage to get it at the right rate once in awhile, it's agonizingly slow and then suddenly just stops. As the cuff deflates, even if you are able to hold it steady, the numbers for the BP do not smoothly go down but they jump by several digits at a time.I wanted this to work so much that I called the company. I was told that there are some versions that don't work properly but that the one with the "marker" button should work. They offered to replace the unit but I'm sending it back to Amazon because I think that it's unlikely that the flaws are limited to one unit. One last thing --- about that marker button. The idea is that once you get the cuff fully inflated you're supposed to watch for the heart symbol to reappear and that tells you that you are "within about 20 mg of systolic pressure". Then they suggest that you press the "marker" button and after you're done the unit will display what the value was when you were getting near the systolic pressure. Is it just me or is that a pretty worthless feature? Why would I want to remember a "gee I'm getting close" number in the first place as opposed to the actual systolic pressure? It's like taking BP by watching when the needle jumps -- maybe somewhere around there. What I had expected, silly me, was that there would be a visual notification at the systolic BP, an aid to hearing the sounds. OK, even if the little beating heart doesn't work as advertised, you could make an argument for the ease of reading a nice, lit, digital display when you hear the sounds except it's so difficult to steadily deflate the cuff and the numbers jump by multiple digits so it's pretty hard to have any confidence in any reading that you take a guess at.As I said, I really wanted this to work so I return it sadly.

This cuff gives no new reason for high blood pressure...
I've been an RN for nearly 30 years so have taken many blood pressures. This one was different from any handheld cuff I'd used since it is digital. I have to remember to turn it on before I apply it to the patient or it doesn't work right....that is not a problem. It pumped up more easily than any cuff I'd ever used but it also let the air out just as easily so took me 2 tries to learn to control that valve...not a problem. Big enough display for "older" eyes. Two nice features-backlit so can see at night easily AND automatic pulse-real time saver especially if counting respirations isn't necessary. My only complaint would be that it comes only with a standard cuff which isn't big enough for large arms-of course, it can be easily switched to another cuff if you have one. Last tidbit-comes with it's own carrying case and that's always a plus.

Not eligible for return
Not eligible for return, so make sure you want this. I dont care too much about the valve feature that you have to know how to control to get a reading. I was hoping to replace cuff I had similar to this except, cuff deflated on it's own and gave very accurate readings. This cuff forms bot deflate automatically. 😔

An interesting hybrid
This device is an odd hybrid. It's a mostly manual sphygmomanometer (Blood Pressure Meter) with a digital readout. It also can provide a heart rate, if you don't let the cuff deflate too fast. Oddly, this thing actually doesn't record the systolic and diastolic pressures during measurement and provide a readout at the end. It simply provides a digital readout of the numbers as the cuff deflates. You still need to use your stethoscope and listen for the Korotkoff sounds. On the one hand, it seems like a missed opportunity or perhaps just really poor software design, on the other hand, a back-lit digital readout with large numbers is pretty cool for EMS work. It's also probably good for those with vision challenges as it's much easier to see than the dials on most portable sphygmomanometers. It seems pretty rugged and will likely hold up to some abuse. Notably, this item did not come with a manual. I was able to locate one on the net, but despite the manual claiming to be for the same model number, there were differences in both the display and controls (did I get an old version?). Overall, it's a curious bit of kit. I'm going to field test it for a bit and see how it works out. Meanwhile, if you need a large backlit display for an otherwise manual sphygmomanometer, go for it.

Awkward to use
I don't seem to get correct readings. Not sure...the instruction werent the best. Decided to purchase a good digital automatic one button machine for less.

Not usable
When attempting to obtain a BP the systolic and diastolic numbers do not appear and it consistently reads pulse error. I've read and re-read the directions to no avail. If someone else has purchased please upload a video. I tried to use this for work.
