SITKA GearWomens Cloudburst Pant

October Wyoming Wilderness
I have used quite a bit of outdoor gear and clothing in my life. I have backpacked over 5000 miles, to include the Appalachian Trail, I've canoed the Allagash Wilderness Waterway twice, and I've camped in the Minnesota Boundary Waters region in January where daytime temperatures were 20 below. I know good outdoor gear and clothing when I see it. Unfortunately, women are not expected to need the quality of outdoor gear that a man may need, so I have been forced to buy men's small to get the quality of gear that I needed for the elements. Sitka makes clothing for women who choose to endure whatever Mother Nature decides to hand to you. Buy without hesitation.

Very loud while walking. Baggy fit.
The media could not be loaded. These pants seemed like a dream come true; waterproof, windproof, packable and light. I was planning on using them in the spring for coyotes. Spring weather is unpredictable. It could rain early morning and temperatures could raise up to 70 degrees by afternoon with clear skys. I go into high desert country where the wind blows constantly.I needed a pant that could withstand all of those aforementioned scenarios. While these pants can hold up in those conditions, the downside is that they are incredibly loud while walking. Any animal would be able to hear from a mile away. The element of surprise would be out the window just by walking. On top of that, they did not fit correctly. In some areas, such as the waist and lower leg were a great fit. Other areas from the hip to the thighs were too baggy and were sagging.I'm 5"6' and 150 lbs, I've got curves with a smaller waist, baby making hips, (2 kids), and muscular thighs. I normally wear a medium to large pant. I thought, (because most women's hunting pants are usually made for skinny females) I would get a large. Perhaps a medium would have worked better. But like I said, they did fit in some areas, just not in the important ones.Sadly, these did not work out the way I had hoped and I have to return.

I love these pants
I love these pants! Of course the quality is great, I don't buy any hunting gear other then Sitka. As a girl its hard to find quality in the right fit. it shapes me well and I can hike miles without any discomfort. The rain beads off nicely without soaking through. Stitching is even and not too thin, zipper is good quality, button is heavy duty, knee pads are removable if you choose not to use them. I can layer the Sitka "leggings" core midweight bottoms underneath no problem keeping me warm.

perfect for wyoming elk hunt
These pants are amazing! I purchased them for elk season last year and I am so happy I did. We had snow storms/freezing rain. Very low temps, snow up to my knees and these pants kept me warm and DRY! I cannot recommend these pants enough. They are completely worth it!
