I've bought different replacement hood shocks for my H3 before...but the hood is so heavy, they didn't do the job.THESE, on the other hand totally lift the heavy hood with ease, and it was a cinch to install. As noted in some other reviews, the ball joint socket on one side is bigger than the Hummer stock one, so there's a little wiggle, but not enough to make we want to switch out the ball. Also, it was much easier to install on account of it. Highly recommend!

Please note, this part may fit other models listed in the ad perfectly. I bought these for my 2007 HUMMER H3. The shocks are the correct length. These came with replacement ball studs too. PLEASE NOTE: on a HUMMER H3 the ball stud in the engine compartment is a smaller thread diameter and smaller ball compared to the ball stud that mounts by the hood hinge. The pair of ball studs that come with the shocks are the larger size only. So, you can only replace the ball stud near the hood hinge. Luckily for me, the smaller ball studs on my vehicle are in great shape. The new shock "clicked" on like it should, so I hope it stays in place. The shocks work great and lift the hood quickly and quietly, just like new again.

Easy and installation, hood lifts with ease, hood stays up firm. Would recommend!

Exact fit. So easy to change out. A caveman can do it.

Easy to install. I simply used the existing ball connectors on the vehicle and snapped these right in place. They hold good and hold the hood up without any droop at all. They are a little loose on the factory fasteners and I do not mind so I cannot speak to some reviews that mentioned the provided balls do not fit the oem threads. However, I have raised and lowered the hood several times since install and have had no issues at all with these doing their job.
