Pain Relief
What a find these were. Over time I have damaged the ball of my foot just walking and running for so many years. I went to the pediatrist and he recommended these to take some pressure off the sore/damaged area on the ball of my foot. They actually stick to your foot, not an insert nor on your sock. They work great. I can walk pain free with these pads. The huge selling point for me is that they are reusable. Wash them with water and they become sticky on one side once again, ready for another day of walking.

Very helpful after bunionectomy surgery
I had bunionectomy surgery on both my left and right foot. After getting over the initial hump of the surgery, I began noticing that the ball of my foot had an unusual ache. I spoke with my podiatrist and, as I expected, the realigning of my big toe altered my pressure points when walking. My dr recommended this and it really helped. I wore it for a while on my left foot and then found I didn't need it as much as my foot adjusted to my new stride. Later following my right foot surgery, I experienced the same sensation on the ball of my foot. I currently wear all the time on my right. I still wear it on my left foot but now only when I know I am going to be on my feet a lot or walk long distances. Be very mindful about cleaning. I have pets so I constantly battle pet hair. I have found it's best to put on immediately after showering and put my sock over it so it doesn't collect any dust or hair on it. I also suggest washing with hand soap not just water. On my first one from the dr, I just used water and it really didn't clean them as well which affects its stickiness. I bought a new one and am being very mindful of immediately washing them when I take them off.

Amazing help for an athlete with a broken sesamoid and torn plantar plate
This is a review from an athlete with a broken sesamoid bone and torn plantar plate tendon rather than a dancer; I thought a contribution from a different perspective would be helpful. After my injury, I was in a boot for about 2 months which was miserable. When I got out of it, my orthopedist recommended I either tape my big toe or wear a hard pad underneath the front ball of my foot. I had bought this reading it was good for similar issues as my own, and it worked wonders. It wasn't quite as good as taping up the foot, which I continued to do for more strenuous activity, but this was my go-to pad for the recovery period. My only complaint is that even after putting it on for weeks, it was still hard to find the right place to put it. Not a big issue though, as I would just put it on, step down and if it didn't feel right, I would peel it off and put it on again differently. I misplaced the 2nd pad but it didn't matter: the pad remains sticky for a while and when it doesn't, you just rinse it off with some water and let it dry and it's back to being sticky.

Good in theory but was not very helpful for me
Following bunion surgery, I have had pain on the ball of my foot under the big toe. My physical therapist suggested that I try a metatarsal pad in order to reduce the pressure on that part of my foot. I loved the idea of a pad that sticks to your foot rather than one that has to be fastened into your shoe, because the shoe pads I'd tried before were ridiculously useless. Unfortunately I've found that wearing one of Dr. Jill's pads on my foot hasn't helped my problem much either. The pad is not really very comfortable, because the stickiness is distracting. Secondly, the pad does not really reduce much impact on the ball of my foot. I ordered the thinner pads, so I don't know if trying the thicker ones would make a difference. Again, I love the theory of these pads and hoped they'd eliminate my problem, but I'm still searching for a solution.

Great
These are great. My only question is why two right foot pads are sold instead of a set for right and left foot. Overall, they are comfortable and work well to keep pain off my sesamoid while I dance (I am an Irish dancer). They don't slip much either.

Best ones i've used.
These things worked to relieve my sesamoiditis. I used them until I picked up my orthotics. High arches so the orthotic made more sense for me.I would still be using these otherwise as they were totally reusable with a little soap and water. They just became sticky again. It was pretty cool actually. They're thicker so if you have a crazy job like construction or something where you move like a ninja these will work great. They have different thicknesses also.

Don’t work.
I tried both, the thin gel pads, and the thick ones. The thin ones are so thin that they don’t do anything, but the thick ones are too thick to a point where they get so uncomfortable you can’t wear. The adhesive does not work, they slide immediately. Waste of money as you can’t return these.

Sesamoid Foot Pad - fantastic!
I got these as I work on my feet and have sesamoid nerve issues in the ball of my foot making it painful to be on them all day / put pressure on this part of my foot. These pads work really well. Get the thickest ones you can and they basically take the pressure off the sesamoid nerve which follows down from your big toe. They stick well to your foot and you wash them by hand let them dry and they're ready to go again! They come in a two pack and if you have "turf toe" "dancers foot" or have sesamoid damage they are a godsend!
