Lovely twine for macrame
I was looking for twine for macramé and based on a couple of other good reviews purchased the 30-ply cone. This does indeed have 30 plies. By comparison typical butcher twine from the kitchen dept of your local mega mart is 8-ply and much thinner. For the crafters, this is thicker than your average worsted weight cotton, I would call it Aran weight at minimum, possibly heavier. I’ve attached a photo, the 30-ply is on the left, Lily Sugar & Cream (colored) in the middle and the thinnest is unknown “butcher twine” I use to truss chicken. This would be serious overkill for a chicken. It is approx. 1/8” or 3mm thick. Is it cotton? At least partially. The listing says cotton, the only seller reply to the questions I could find implied it was cotton, but the sticker inside the cone says it’s poly/cotton yet offers no fiber %. I don’t need 100% cotton but others might. This was also priced at about 1/3 of what the macramé vendors charge for the same twine, and makes a lovely unraveled fringe. I am happy, and will buy more as needed.

Great for crochet/macrame (24-ply review)
People tried to describe the size in q and a, but many didn't mention which ply they were asking or replying about. This is the 24-ply and was happy that this was about perfect for my project. Included are some photos to show the size a bit better for those that are uncertain like I was. It's very soft and flexible. I can see dropping a couple strands when I crochet with it and having to grab them again, but that is expected with a high ply, thick string. There's a lot there, which is great because I crochet & macrame with this stuff a lot! Don't let that affordable price fool you, this is a great product for a multitude of projects and an awesome value! I think I'll order the thicker stuff too, while it is available, just to have for any other potential future projects that I could put together with a thicker string. I'll update if I have issues when I go to crochet, but it really looks and feels about perfect. Love it!!

Great deal and perfect for any roast.
Nice and thick to tidy up any roast. I often debone a whole chicken for a roast and this is perfect to tie it up with a lot of stuffings. I also use it to make bird and cat toys as this is just unbleached food grade cotton.

Strong
A meat cutter/ mgr/ hunter for 50 years.Heavy , strong, thick cotton meat wrap that will hold the juices in .Use to hold pigs on a rotisserie too .Knots don't slip out like on thinner string.A little more money but well worth it!!

Buy it. Use it.
It's brilliant packaged and well balanced in its slightly conical shape--ready to use for years ahead. If you're not a butcher, there's enough twine in this one bundle to last a life-time, unless you're crazy wasteful and tie up everything you cook with butch twine, including your scrambled eggs, which I can imagine might be slightly difficult to do. Four stars. Buy it. Use it. Be happy.

Works for garden staking!
I used it to create ladders btwn stakes for my garden. The thickness of the twine is great, and once you pull it taut and tie it to the supports, it stays put through rain and sun and outdoor weather. I have even untied ends and raised the level of the line, and I’ll see if it’s reusable but I’ll likely toss it.The roll is really large and bulky, so I found a tube and made a smaller roll so I could take it outside and not get the whole giant roll dirty.I haven’t used it for food so I can’t say how it does in the oven/pot.

Garden friend
Perfect use for trellising and supporting in the garden. Big enough to hold up and easy to use. A bit big when handling but awesome value!
