helped resolve intermittent ISP disconnects
I have Xfinity internet and a Netgear C7000 and work from home, so stable internet is critical for me. Periodically the Netgear would go offline and when I'd check its connection status, I'd find that my upstream transmit power levels were really high, sometimes over 50-51 dBmV. That's way out of spec for my modem/router, and definitely a culprit. I first eliminated all splitters (don't need them as I cut the cable for YoutubeTV) which helped somewhat, but hot summer days still caused disconnects. After researching solutions, I found this simple 4 port Arris signal booster with active return (the key feature!) and gave it a try. It wasn't exactly cheap at almost $80, but wow, it helped. So I mentioned I removed splitters and connected my modem directly to the main feed, that leveled out my upstream power levels to around 47-48 dBmV, better but still periodic disconnects.A few months after that a neighbor had Xfinity out to pull new physical cable from the pedestal at the curb to the condo's distribution closet, and they were nice enough to change mine out as well. That reduced more noise / dropped transmit power levels further to 43-45 dBmV and I had a much more stable (but still saw occasional errors / dropped uncorrectable frames) connection. The Arris unit was already ordered and on the way by the time Xfinity ran that new cable, so I installed it and my power levels are now 38-42 dBmV with virtually no errors and no disconnects in over 2 months. If you find yourself in a similar situation where your modem has to "shout" / transmit at high and out of spec power levels due to noise, old cable, whatever, this Arris signal boosting unit can really help. It runs very warm to the touch, so I elevated it on a little stand I made from some scrap wood to allow airflow underneath it. Other than that one quirk, it's been a fantastic addition to my setup and has made my internet experience much better.

Makes a Difference. Exactly what I was looking for.
The quick version: If the wiring to your house from the cable company is responsible for slowing your internet connection, this might help solve the problem. The long version: Since I moved into my house I’ve had many internet issues despite always having high end networking gear and working in tech myself. My internet would randomly go out and my modem would have issues locking uplink channels. Also I had recently upgraded to gigabit Ethernet speeds, but was only getting 400 mbs which is under half what should be expected. I have a masters degree in computer engineering so normally I can easily isolate and fix internet issues like this myself. However, nothing I was doing would fix the problem which lead me to believe the wiring to the house might be the culprit.I called the cable company to explain the situation and to no surprise I paid them to have someone come out and tell me they can’t actually help with the wiring to my house and told me to call an electrician. Before paying a large amount to have the wiring to my house redone, I figured I would try a few things first to see if I could fix it myself. After some research I found this product that I thought it might be what I need to fix my issue. I installed the device where the cable comes into the house and measured my internet speeds.Compared to measurements I took before installing this device, I saw far more consistent speeds that were around 150-250 Mbs higher than previously! Though this still isn’t quite the gigabit speeds I’m paying for, this is much closer than before. This device saved me both time and money by providing a quick and easy to install improvement to my cable connection. If you believe the cable connection coming into your house is an issue, this is definitely worth trying before paying to get rewriting done. I highly recommend this product and would buy it again.

Vast improvement for Spectrum cable
My TV reception was terrible. Pixelated screen on most channels and stuttering sound. Spectrum said it was my home wiring which was b.s. since I replaced the lines within the past 3 years. Only one box + many online devices hooked up. Internet speed was o.k. But TV sucked. Distance from pole to where it enters my home is about 60 feet, then another 50 to the modem splitter and 15 to the TV box. After installing this amp just after the cable enters the house, I can watch an entire movie without any noise and distortion. Only occasional issues that last seconds instead of all day. Internet speeds are faster and no dropouts.

Cable issues solved with arris broadband amp!!!👍😎
Solved my Altice / Optimum / Cablevision missing channel, dot and slow internet issues.Wish I bought sooner.Ended years of calling tech support.Have normal signal strength and signal to noice ratios.Tv channels, DVR, and internet works reliably. As mentioned in manual, amp gets warm in use.Highly recommend after exhaust other activities including checking coax, splitters, and connections.I have four Samsung set top boxes and one arris tm822g internet / telephone modem.Placed this am as the first connection to cable feeding internet / telephone modem, two TVs and to second splitter with two more TVs.Db strength on internet modem went up About 14 dB looking at 192.168.100.1 before and after its use which was the 7db amp and the balance with eliminating about 7db loss on previous four way splitter I was using previously.Accept for large bill, like my service. Buying internet / telephone modem next to replace my rental to save 10 per month rental to have cable company pay for my amp.
