Manual of Emergency and Critical Care Ultrasound 2nd Edition

We used this for our ultrasound training in residency and I practically taught myself using this book. It's perfect length for beginners and is well written and easy to follow while touching on the relevant literature. I still find myself occasionally referencing this even having completed an Emergency Ultrasound fellowship. The size is great and I've carried it to Africa and Asia to use as a field manual when teaching physicians abroad ultrasound and always recommend this to people just getting into bedside ultrasound.

Thorough but not voluminous. The book is both a superb reference butremains easy to read. This book should be first read and then frequentlyreviewed by those clinicians involved in diagnostic ultrasound. The expertiseof the authors in both performance of ultrasound and teaching shinesthrough often.

This was a great book that accomplished everything for me that it was intended to. The organization was good, and the diagrams and photographs used well in conjunction with the text. The language is simple, and the information brief but sufficient to give you the basics of ultrasound. I bought this book after I attended a course, so it was good to have the additional info while the stuff was still reasonably fresh in my mind. This manual is useful for both beginners and more advanced ultrasonographers, but keep in mind that it is just an overview. This book will not instantly turn you into an ultrasound guru- that can only be accomplished in the words of the quote " how do I get to Carnegie Hall. Practice, practice, practice!"

I found this very helpful. You can pick and choose the chapters you which to review, and they are well written and easy to read.Highly recommended.

super fast and easy read with all the basic information you need to perform the most common emergency setting scans.

Very good book for beginners to intermediate. I am in first yeast of EM residency. This book has been a big help in understanding what I'm looking at when I do FAST or any other US assisted procedure.

The Echo part is too much simplified.
