Barfly M37100CP Essentials Cocktail Set, 7-Piece, Copper

When would I use this?
This kit is a roll up bar set so that you can take your bar "on the go." I honestly cannot think of a real world application when I would need to bring an entire bar with me to a separate location. And even if I such an event took place, this kit would not suffice. For example, it comes with the strainer that you typically put over a martini shaker. The kit does not come with a martini shaker, nor is there any space for a shaker in the roll up bag nor are there any pockets that a standard shaker would fit into. I don't see how any of this poorly conceived gift item would help anyone with an "on the go" bar situation. In addition, the actual items of of decent at best quality. The tongs, peeler, and de-pitting tool are all made with plastic and make them look cheap. The strainer is fine and the shot measure is actually quite nice. Maybe someone who is better at drink making than I would like this, but I see no redeeming quality in this purchase.

Disappointing quality
Note: this review is for the stainless Essentials setI have a few other bar tools from this brand, and was impressed by the quality of the materials and make. This set looks good in the pictures, but it disappoints as soon as you pick it up. The "leather" straps feel very plastic-y, and the buckles are lightweight and feel cheap. Inside, everything is wrapped nicely in tissue for shipping, which does make for decent presentation as a gift. That said, all of the products are extremely light and don't feel at all like high-quality bar tools. For example, the plastic on both the channel knife and the peeler feels rather brittle, and I'd worry about putting it through the dishwasher. The spoon has uneven balance and has a smaller, rounder bowl than the (much nicer) spoons you can buy individually from the brand. The jigger has decent balance, but feels like aluminum or tin, again not at all like the much higher-quality jigger from this brand. When you handle this set, it just feels like a discount set of cheap tools that will get replaced pretty quickly.Overall, I can't recommend this set at all either for a lover of mixed drinks or an aspiring bartender. There are much better quality tools available, even from this brand.

Nice Presentation
I'm by no means a bartender or mixologist. I do like an occasional cocktail and we entertain from time to time. I thought this would be something nice to have on hand for those special occasions when a stiff drink is in order.Overall, the presentation is very nice. The canvas and leather have a nice look and while the straps seem a little thin, if you're not taking this off to war with you, you'll probably be ok. There's plenty of pockets inside the roll so you can expand your toolkit. The included tools are a great start. The only thing that's really missing is a heavy duty muddler. The tools are varied in terms of apparent quality. The jigger, spoon and strainer are all very nice, the tongs are middle of the road and the peeler and channel knife are a little cheap looking. Not a huge deal, but at the price point, maybe you could've tried a little harder. In terms of performance, everything performs well and I had no issues with ACTUAL quality in terms of the way the tools performed.Overall, it's a great little set with a nice presentation. The price point sets it up to be more of a gift as - if you're just looking for a selection of tools to get your home bar set up - there are more economical sets out there.

A must have for amateur Bartenders or Mixologist.
The BARFLY 7-piece cocktail set is pretty nice. It looks good and is extremely useful. The case is canvas (black) with brown leather straps (brass buckles). This kit comes with 7 items: a Japanese jigger; y-peeler; channel knife; long spoon; tong and strainer, all of which fit nicely in the carrying case. All of which are stainless steel or heavy-duty plastic. There are a ton of extra pockets and space for those items that you might wish to add to your collection, like a bottle/wine opener. Each item has a use. I like the tong because it makes picking up olives, cherries or small ice cubes easier. This kit stores well. While this set is somewhat pricey, I think it is a great gift. You can give it as a housewarming or hostess gift, or you can give it as a gift for the new bartender/mixologist. I definitely think it’s worth taking a look.

Nice bar set
This is a great set of essentials for a professional or your home bar. It comes with a 2 oz. jigger, bar spoon, strainer, precision tong, peeler and channel knife. The tools are high quality and work really well.It all comes in an attractive canvas and leather carrying roll. Easy to travel with/transport. It's classy and stylish. The carry bag has a ton of pockets for when you want to add to your bar tool collection. The price point is a little high for my tastes, but if that doesn't scare you away, I think it's a great purchase. This set would make an awesome wedding, shower, housewarming gift, etc. I love to entertain, and this is a great set to have out on the bar for my guests.

Nice set
I got this for my husband because he has recently gotten into mixing drinks. It's a nice set and when he rolls it out, people are usually impressed. It's a big large considering it only comes with 7 pieces so finding a place to store it has been an issue in our small kitchen. Still, he's been happy with it. The jigger and spoon get the most use. He ended up buying a muddler (which I think is an essential) and replacing the peeler because it's cheap plastic. It doesn't fit as well with the other pieces. But overall, he's been happy with it and I'm enjoying all the drinks!

For a traveling bartender
Standard tools like spring strainer for a Boston shaker, double ended jigger, spoon, etc. Large roll case with pockets to store and carry tools. The case is clnylon canvas straped with two Faux leather straps with buckles. Velcro would be more practical, so star off. Metal buckles are really last century. Too big for a kitchen drawer but for someone who travels to serve and wants to make sure they have tools, good.
