1,000-lb. Capacity Office Chair - Black

This chair sits too low. The wheels do not transverse, thus making it hard to move the chair around. Otherwise this is a good chair.

I WEIGH 600LBS AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT THIS CHAIR IS DANGEROUS. THE WHOLE THING IS STURDY BUT THE WHEELS! WHICH BASICALLY RUIN THE WHOLE THING. IVE ALREADY BROKE ON OF THESE, BUT HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO GET ANOTHER BECAUSE ITS SO HARD TO FIND HEAVY DUTY CHAIRS MY SIZE THAT AREN'T OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS. THE PRICE IS OK ON IT BUT THE WHEELS ARE SO BAD, IT DOESN'T REALLY ROLL MUCH, AND THEY ARE BARELY HELD IN THE WAY THEY CONNECT IS HORRIBLE. THATS WHAT BROKE ON MY FIRST ONE WAS THE WHEELS OR CASTERS AS THEY CALL IT. I'M VERY NERVOUS ON THIS THING, I HOPE IT DOESN'T BREAK. ITS MADE IN CHINA WHICH SCARES ME EVEN MORE, I MEAN THERES SO MANY FLAWS IN THE MOLD OF IT ALL. THERES RUST IN PARTS, THERES UNEVEN MELTED STEEL ON PARTS, JUST REALL CRAPPY QUALITY IF YOU ASK ME. I'M SAD I ACTUALLY BOUGHT THE THING AGAIN. THE FIRST WAS LEATHER, THIS ISN'T EVEN LEATHER. DON'T BUY THIS CHAIR IF YOU ARE TOO HEAVY, DON'T THINK THE 1000LBS LIMIT IS REAL CUASE I REALLY DON'T BELIEVE IT.

Poor quality and construction

So, I bought this chair directly from DXL a few years back. Wasn't cheap and with a huge weight capacity there should be nothing I could do to harm this chair.Wrong.Within a year of owning the first one, every single caster broke, the weld between the seat plate and cylinder snapped and the cushion itself felt like I was sitting on plywood. Contacted DXL and was sent out a replacement chair. This time, I gave up on the casters as they were the part that almost always broke with every chair I've bought. Not 6 months after getting it, the weld on the plate broke...again.Contacted DXL AGAIN, only to be told that I must be "abusing" the chair somehow. Yeah...by using it to sit down. After a lot of back & forth, they agreed to send me just that plate. A month later I finally get the plate and managed to cut the old one off the cylinder and seemed happy.Another bought of Wrong again.Not even 2 weeks went by when the welds gave up the ghost again. Contacted them and was told that there was nothing they could do so I was SOL.I won't even buy clothes from them at this point.

These things are cheap as hell. I've broken two and am hundreds of pounds under the stated capacity. They're impossible to adjust and the casters are garbage. The seat assemblage is properly heavy duty, but the central shaft is not resilient enough for every day use beyond a year. While the assemblage is heavy duty, it's basically un-padded and after a couple hours feels like sitting on a hard board, the back of the chair does not lean or flex back in any way so if you have a lot of um, back - it will be pushing you forward constantly. Basically, the big and tall seating market is a huge, underserved and abused population that is searching for a good solution, there's a lot money to be made with quality seating that won't fail, or break the bank for someone who wants to fill this demand.

I bought the chair around December, 2013. After approximately 2 years, it finally broke while I was sitting in it while at my computer desk. It broke where the piston met the hinge under the seat. I fell backwards onto the floor. Other than my wits, nothing was damaged. It now sits in my closet waiting for the day that I can get it out to the dumpster. I have recently purchased a new air piston, but the chair isn't equipped for it. It looks like I may have to purchase a new one, but only if it is fixed to receive a 1000 lb. air piston.

The height adjustment stopped working almost immediately, leaving it stuck at the lowest height. After 3 months a caster broke, then another. Finally we replaced them all with a different brand. Meanwhile the seat began to lean to one side; the seat plate was bending where it was welded to the cylinder. Finally a caster stem receiver gave out. Lasted less than 2 years.

I bought this chair from another retailer and it is garbage. Chair fell apart within 3 months. Wheels don't turn well. Seat is too large to sit properly. I'm 6'4, 550 lbs and was not comfortable in this chair. DO NOT BUY!!!!!
