Inaccurately advertised, but still a nice rug
Be advised: this rug was inaccurately advertised, which leads me to believe that other Safavieh product descriptions may also be less than accurate. The description here says "100% wool, light blue." The rug I received was labeled 80% wool, 20% cotton, and it is more of a dusty blue, or what some call "spa blue," than a true light blue. I just repainted my bedroom with one wall a true light blue, and the other a shade called "teal ice" that has a hint more green in it. The rug is a near-match for the very light teal wall, not the light blue one. As it turns out, I'm very happy with it; it is still light enough to "lift" the mood of the room, and it doesn't really matter to me WHICH wall it matches. But it might matter to the next buyer; so, whether Safavieh's quality control or Amazon's proofreaders are at fault for the inaccuracy, somebody needs to fix it.Of more concern is the cotton/wool issue; it appears to me that the lengthwise threads or "warp" (what you see on a loom at the beginning of the weaving process) are cotton, while the "woof," or yarn that is woven through to make the rug, is wool. Cotton seems to me to have a shorter useful life than wool (barring moths), so this may affect the durability of the rug more than if the whole thing were made of a cotton/wool blend. On another note, a "dhurrie" appears to be the Indian term for what the Turks call a "kelim"; the rug was labeled with both terms. It is a hand-knotted rug, so it will have more irregularities than a factory-produced rug; but it also has tons more character! Great all-season rug, since the wool will insulate in winter, but the flat weave isn't oppressive in summer. Overall a nice rug and a good value for the money (I paid just under $150).

Decent, attractive rug
This is a satisfactory rug. The color in person is similar to the picture. It would look good in many different types of interiors, from traditional to global and eclectic. It gets dirtier than other rugs I have, perhaps because of its nonexistent pile. Stains and dirt just soak right into the rug, especially the lighter-colored parts. Note that there is no pile on this rug - it is more like a flat, woven mat. And it is not soft either. However, I was okay with having no pile and with the roughness, because I am merely walking on it, not sitting on it. Still, the ease with which this rug gets dirty does bother me. This may also be because the rug is only two colors. Perhaps if there were more colors / shades involved, or more variation, then potential dirt/stains would be easier to conceal.I bought the 10 ft. size, and in retrospect, I wish I had ordered a longer rug. I do not have a particularly large or long hallway, but 10 feet is still not long enough to look right. Also, this rug needs a rug pad. And, because it is a relatively lightweight rug, even with the pad it can still become bunched and lay incorrectly. This is particularly true around the corners of the rug, where sometimes both rug and pad will become lifted up and folded over. Our rug is on a hardwood floor. This may not be an issue if you intend to use this rug over wall-to-wall carpet. However, aside from the issues I have mentioned above, I like this rug and I approved of the price.

Lovely quality but definitely not a soft and cozy rug...
For the price, this rug is good quality. I expect to get at least a few years from it before it starts to show signs of wear and tear. Please note, if you are looking for a soft, cozy rug this is most definitely NOT for you! This rug is 100% wool, and it IS ITCHY. Works very well for me, as I have no small children in my house, crawling around. But if I did there would be no way I could keep this in my home...it is comfortable under my feet, but to small kids this rug would be an itchy, wooly nightmare. It looks great and personally I like that it's 100% wool because that makes it more durable. I would buy this product again, personally.

pretty, made well but mine a bit scratchy
It is what it is supposed to be, a nicely made thin wool rug that will wear well. The color matches what I see on my monitor- a nice pleasant shade of pastel lime green. I gave it only 4 stars because the wool on mine is quite scratchy. Even just picking it up out of the box I could feel it pricking my hands (it was unwrapped as it was "used" from Warehouse). I need it as an entryway rug for my master bedroom, I don't plan on laying or sitting on it, and I wear slippers all the time in my all-tile-floor home, so it won't pester me.

It looks great here, but in person
The picture of this rug is not very accurate when it comes to the actual fabric. It looks great here, but in person, it's very thin and slides around my hardwood floor. I also thought it would be softer, but it's a very rough material. I got it for my closet so I was hoping it would be a little softer for my feet. I just don't feel like going through the hassle of returning it because it's 8x8. I put a big ottoman in the center to keep it from sliding. Maybe I'll get a thick rug pad to soften it up a little. I was very disappointed. I gave it a 2 stars instead of one because I do like the color and pattern. And although it was delivered rolled up, It was still wrinkled in one corner and hasn't flattened out. I've had it laid out for about a month now. I feel like it's more of an outdoor rug than indoor.

Lovely
I love this line of rugs. I now have three that I use to deaden echoes in my hallways and stairwell, and I couldn't be happier with them. This one is a very pretty sky blue shade, and it sits nicely flat. Since it is a dhurrie rug, it is a flat weave and reversible. My only complaint is that I would have liked it to be two feet longer, but I could not find it in a 16' length, and I loved the look of this rug so much that I was willing to compromise on that point. I recommend using a quality rug pad with any of the rugs in this series, especially if you're going to use them on hardwood floors. I use this one, and I like it: http://www.amazon.com/Runner-Underlay-Premier-Rubber-Backing/dp/B002ZQ6TES/

Love this rug
I absolutely love this area rug. It is not soft and plush, if thats what you are looking for. its a gorgeous rich sky blue colour, and very durable. I find it nice on bare feet. It has a rustic look to it but I have it in my main dining room, under a large harvest table.

Almost feels like a burlap sack
Feels rough and thin and well..cheap - although it wasn't. Almost feels like a burlap sack. I won't even use it - well.maybe as an outdoor scuff rug or in the garage to wipe my feet....

Ottimo acquisto
Strasoddisfatta dell'acquisto!
