I bought this as a cheap beater hat to keep the sun off my head while hiking and doing yard work. It fits the bill as a cheap beater hat, except it wasn't really that cheap. It kind of feels like a cheap hat that's trying to pretend to be more fancy than it is, so it can charge a higher price than it really deserves. I own some really good Panama hats, so I have a sound basis for comparison. This is about 1/4 as nice as my cheapest good Panama for about 1/2 the price. Not the best math, but maybe my perception of hat values hasn't caught up to inflation.For what this hat set me back, I was kind of expecting more. It wasn't blocked very well, and the fold in the brim doesn't line up with the crease in the crown. It's pretty thin and easily damaged, and the fit is pretty loose, even after using the supplied foam rubber insert things.It is what it is though. It's a decent hat that has stood up to lots of soaking sweats. I got the light colored hat band to make sweat less obvious. It hasn't actually cracked yet, but I feel like this will only last a season or two before it dies.The hat would have been a great value for about half what I paid for it. For the kind of money this hat cost, I was expecting more. On the bright side though, it stood up to a massive thunder shower that got it quite thoroughly wet, and that didn't diminish it at all.

The product description says the hat is white. However, it is tan. If you need a truly white hat, do not buy this one! That being said, this is a really good quality hat. I plan to keep it for sure. But it is definitely NOT white.

The hat has a great look and fit. You can wear it anywhere.
