From the Manufacturer Remote control or reprogram. Add to any Cubelets kit to extend your robot. The Bluetooth Cubelet contains a tiny Bluetooth radio that you can pair with your Android device or PC. With our app, "Cubelets Control," running on your Android device, you can override Action Cubelets and remote control your robot. Drive it around on the floor like a radio control car or turn the Flashlight and Speaker Cubelets on from the next room. Communication works the other way too: you can read data from Sense Cubelets remotely. We can finally determine with absolute certainty whether the light in the fridge goes out when the door is closed. With our program, "Cubelets Code," running in a browser on your laptop or PC, you can connect to a robot, see which Cubelets are connected, see the program that they're running and reprogram any or all of your Cubelets over wireless. Software available at www.modrobotics.com. Anyone can build robots that drive around on a tabletop, respond to light and other objects and have surprisingly lifelike behavior. Instead of programming that behavior, you snap the Cubelets together and watch the behavior emerge like with a flock of birds or a swarm of bees. Each Cubelet has a tiny computer inside of it and is a robot in its own right. When you put Cubelets together, you're actually making a robot out of several smaller robots. Each Cubelet communicates with its neighbors, so you know that if two blocks are next to each other, they're talking. Specifications: For ages 4 and up. Cubelets are lead free. Cubelets are assembled in Boulder, CO from components made all over the world.

Probably Necessary if buying Cubelets - Upgrades Needed on Some Blocks and this does the upgrade
My son loves the Cubelets when he plays with them, but unfortunately like any toy my 14 year old boy plays with, after a couple of hours they are now sitting on his desk. I know that if we were to buy some more blocks they would be interesting again, but the blocks are pretty expensive so we will wait a bit to get more. We ended up with blocks of two different operating system so we needed to buy the Bluetooth block and update it all - yet again more money than we had planned on. They all updated pretty quickly once we figured out the online directions. All in all, a great mind challenge for anyone. The blocks are easy to work if you stick to the easy stuff. As you get older, you add blocks and make things more complicated.

Good idea, but doesn't work well
My 6-year old (and I) love Cubelets, but I am very disappointed with the Bluetooth cube. It is cumbersome to connect on my iPad Mini or iPhone 6. The control is spotty and unresponsive. Cubes sometimes show up correctly in the app, but often just as unidentified cubes. It seems to work passively, displaying the signal they receive, but when you try to turn the cubes on to control them via the app there is a delay up to several seconds, if the control works at all. Every time it doesn't work you have to shut it down, close the app, turn it back on, go into settings, re-connect to the cube, then go back into the app and hope it works. Very frustrating for a kid. After only a few uses, one face of the cube seems to have no signal at all and does not recognize any other cubes connected through that face. All the other Cubelets have worked very well and have taught my son a lot about understanding concepts like signal strength, inverse, averaging signals, etc. Bluetooth is a great idea, and I really wish it worked because the potential is great, but it just doesn't work well.

Useless. Just useless.
It is almost useless. The android application is not only crappy, but you can not do any programming. You can read some sensors, or simulate values that the sensor cubes are emitting, or send values to motor/light sensors. After 10 minutes of using you realize that you will not touch it ever. Also having 20 cubelets connected to it it is not working well. It works well only if you connect a few cubelets.

Very Expensive toy for a 4 year old as stated by the manufacturer
It works but a very expensive toy. No way to send programmed instructions to the Cubelets. Like a LOGO like language. This should have been incuded in the six Cubelet kit !! It OK bu I am investing in this expensive kid's toy. The company failed us. Nothing to do with Amazon or the vendor. They were greal
