Great for decorating sugar cookies
This worked well for decorating sugar cookies. Icing had a nice glossy finish. Helped colors to flow together nicely without running, leaving a very flat surface. Did not look like one color had been added in top of another.Used exactly as directed. Did not change icing flavor at all even though this powder does not smell very appetizing.

A common soap ingredient?!
My husband got me some Wilton Color Flow Mix, at my request, because I thought I would use it on some sugar cookies that I was making for Christmas. After he brought it home, I happened to read the ingredients on the label, and about choked. The ingredients are egg whites and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate?! The stuff that they put in soaps and shampoos to make them foam up? The stuff that a lot of people are expressing concerns over as being damaging to skin and hair? The stuff that has been associated with slower healing of mouth ulcers and cold sores from toothpaste that includes it in the ingredients? But then, nobody usually eats toothpaste or shampoo. This is the only product I have ever come across that seems to think that a common ingredient of soap is edible. I tried to find out what sorts of problems it might have for people if it was consumed, and couldn't come up with ANYWHERE that showed even a hint that it could possibly be edible. So why is it being put in a product that is intended to be consumed? I keep thinking what people would think if they thought I put soap in my Christmas cookies. That's definitely not something I want to ponder. So my plans are now suddenly changed. I'll find a different way to frost my sugar cookies!
