EVERNEWWater Carry System, 900ml

The Evernew soft bottle has an edge over the Platypus soft bottles in that the cap stays attached to the bottle when you drink out of it, or fill it. I own most every type and size of the Platypus soft sided bottles - from the 16 oz to the 2 Liter versions, including the Plus bottles! I also own both the Push / Pull and Closure caps on the Platypus - and the issue with both is that it is possible to lose the caps - especially the closure cap, as when you take it off to fill or drink, it can get misplaced. The push / pull cap at least stays on when you drink,but it has to be removed to fill it.That is where these Evernew bottles shine - the cap stays attached, and it is virtually impossible to lose it! But there are other nice features to the Evernew bottles that make them shine over the Platy bottles IMHO. For instance, the shock cord that is attached to the bottle - this allows you to roll up the bottle and secure it for portable storage. With the Platypus bottle, you need a rubber band, or a separate cord, or you have to supply your own shock cord (if you have it). The shock cord coming attached to the Evernew is a nice touch.Another bonus - the Evernew bottle threads directly on to the Sawyer Mini Filter, or the Sawyer Squeeze Filter! This means that when the crummy Sawyer bottles break (and they will), you can employ these as either your dirty reservoir, or clean reservoir. These bottles come in sizes up to 2 Liters, so if you need a bigger container, you can get one!In addition - I like the feel / durability of the Evernew bottle more than the Platypus. They stand up on their own better with liquid in them, have a stiffer feel, and for some reason they seem to dry faster than the Platypus when empty.And finally, and most importantly - these are priced well for the different sizes if you shop around. Considering I got this size for $8, and the 2 Liter size for $10, it would be tough to beat those prices for the quality you get.I would recommend these bottles to anyone looking for something compatible with Sawyer filters, or for just a standalone soft drinking bottle.Thanks for reading!

I use a bunch of these bags. Never had one fail. They are much lighter than bottles.

When I'm backpacking I typically take three of these 900mL pouches with me: One for use with a Sawyer filter (the threads match perfectly), one with the hose from a Platypus Hoser reservoir (the threads also match), and one to switch over to when the drinking one is empty. It's great that these bottles are able to stand up on their own, making it easy to filter water into them from above. SmartWater sport tops also fit on these, allowing you to backflush your Sawyer in the field with them, too.My only knock on this product is that while I have been using the same two bottles for drinking for ~5 years without any problems, I have had to replace the filter bottle once or twice. Eventually the adhesive or plastic where the hard and soft plastic meet at the top starts to blow out. Usually this happens slowly enough that you can kind of deal with it, or if you carry multiple pouches like I do you can just start using one of the others for filtering. Either way, it has been more durable and useful than the bags that come with the Sawyer.Also, it might be nice to have more measurements on the side of the bottle (like a Nalgene or the Platypus Hoser has), but that would just be a bonus.

Nice bag, works fine with my Sawyer, but honestly, the biggest selling point was where it was made. Made in Japan! Nice change to se something not made 'you know where'!

Top tier camping / EDC / prepping item. I've had a Platypus brand bottle of this same material and design for 22+ years -- no leaks. This Evernew bottle tops it in design: the cap has retention, and there's a thin elastic string to keep it folded, or in a real pinch, strapped onto you for some two-handed task. Since its clear, no questions about how much water's left. Since it's flat, it's easier to fill in a stream or puddle for survival use (WITH a filtration cap/straw or tablets for chrisakes) than, say, a round bike or Nalgene bottle. The cap is also the right diameter for those bidet-caps. No toilet paper? Insane line at your suburban California Costco? No problem. Go ahead and confidently poop on the sidewalk next to those needles, and emerge with a clean derrière. I'll be shelving my trusted and excellent Platypus in favor of this, and buying one for each of the family's kits and car glove boxes. Along with more bidet-caps.

Really not sure what happened to these. But both ended up with cracks after a few hikes. One was even wrapped up in a sweater.They were in my dogs pack, but I took it off the only time he moved faster than a walk.At least it didn't fail while we were in the desert! Miraculously failed AFTER I got home. Leaked the last bit that was inside. Too bad.

Very durable and reasonably priced. We've had trouble with the Sawyer bags failing within the first 2 dozen uses. We've used these Evernew bags on a thru-hike of the VT Long Trail and on a thru-hike of the AT. We haven't had one fail yet!

I've used playtpus soft bottles/bladders for years for hikign and camping, and tried these on a whim and they're now my prefered system, and I don't see that changing unless they prove to be less durable than the alternative. The cap retension is really nice, and I appreciate the bungee wrap chord. Plastic seems slightly thinner than the platypus, but the tradeoff is that when they're empty, they fold or roll into a much smaller overall package. Really great water system.

Buen producto y buen servicio

I bought this after reading a review on a Sawyer water filter. The mylar bags that come with the filter are pretty flimsy and people were having problems with the bags leaking or splitting on the seams. These bags are not made for the Sawyer, but fit the threads and are much sturdier than the bags you get with the Sawyer filter.

製品自体は本家か知らないがプラティパスの物と遜色ない。値段も半額以下なのも良い。キャップが繋がってて落とさない、折り畳み保持のゴム紐も付いてるのは文句なし。しかしなぜ１リットルでなく0.9リットルなのか？それだけが減点要素。他の容量は2リットル、1.5リットルなのにキリの悪い数値にしたのか理解不能。プラティパスは1リットルの物を販売してるし。
