are these standard sizes? do you need plumber putty to fix? cheers :)

I'm not a plumbing expert but as far as I am aware, these are standard sizes within the UK's systems for plumbing. In my case, the unit fitted into the sink, and is secured with a plastic screw O-ring which is provided. Then the lower end is attached to the plastic pipes which lead to the trap and the waste outlet. When removing the old part, you get to see how everything needs to be assembled once you put the new one in place. Biggest tip? Do not overtighten the connections - they just need to be hand tight, so don't use any tools like spanners because this can cause plumbing joints to leak. Putty isn't needed. There are also YouTube videos that show how to connect one of these sink waste units. I hope that helps - good luck!

The top of the waste is brushed steel, i wanted a chrome top and i did not realise until it had been fitted. would you have it in chrome? thanks

Could anybody tell me the length of thread on the body under the sink?

Length 75mm can be cut to required length with hacksaw.
