Not what I expected but tasty
There's a flavour of a good kebab that I like but cannot find. I have had good kebabs rom takeaways a long time ago but I haven't been able to get the same special flavour for quite a few years.I decided to try this based on the good reviews. It's not what I expected but it has a very good flavour of it own. It's certainly not the kebab shop shish flavour but it tastes good.I'm a terrible cook but this is simple enough to use. I had mixed results in terms of getting a strong flavour.I dropped a star for two reasons. It is expensive though it does cover a lot of meat. Also most of what I eat is bland, disappointing and makes me suffer misery - both food from the supermarket and from restaurants. If food makes you happy then my standards of good food might make you miserable. I experience bad meals but if you experience good meals then this product might not be as good as I rate it.

Mouth-wateringly good!
I used this as a marinade (with olive oil and fresh, minced garlic and ginger) for a leg of lamb, slow cooked. Amazing! Also used the spice with a bit of oil, mixed in with pre-cooked, Puy-style lentils as a side dish (heated up in the oven). It's one of the better blend of shawarma spices I could find. Only down sides (for me) are that it contains sugar (no need for that IMO) and some of the seeds were whole (cumin I think) and not finely ground like most mixes. You notice that when eating it. I'll grind them before use, next time.Good enough though that I bought the 1.3kg tub after tasting this.

Amazing Stuff
I've tried most of the Angus and Oink Rubs now, they are pretty uniformly amazing, but this Shawarma one (along with the Butts and Bones rub) is a true standout.I'll often use this on a slow roasted lamb shoulder (or boned out shin), give it three or so hours in the oven, pull it apart then give it a quick fry off with another quick shake of the rub. Absolutely amazing! I have eaten at many Arabic restaurants and this gives all of them a run for their money and is so easy to do at home.Honestly give it a whirl, you won't be disappointed!
