Surprising sound, great value
Bought these couple years ago to put out on screened in porch we had built onto the house. Went to lot of stores & did find anything, then read a lot of reviews on various outdoor speakers online, before electing to give these a try. Seemed easy to find cheap, low end outdoor speakers with little to no base or very expensive high end outdoor speakers. Finding good quality, good value, that was hard. Turned out to be great decision. Great value. They sound great & have no problem filling the backyard with music from vocals of Nora Jones & Little Big Town to AC/DC or U2. When we have parties, or we are just outside doing yard work, we always get asked where we got these. People always notice the sound quality for outdoors. They are not a household name. No, they are not the quality of my Orbs, that I have inside, but pretty darn good for a fraction of the cost. Key is they have more base than anything of comparable size & many bigger, that I heard. For outside, decent base seems to be key to get the sound to carry. Sound way better than 1 of my neighbors outdoor speaker systems, a big name & over twice the cost of these. We have even used them inside for parties & they sound way better than one of my neighbors big name expensive in ceiling speakers. Given the extremes of temperatures we get in MO, high heat in summer, cold winters, did not want to risk spending a lot on outdoor speakers. I Did not find, nor can imagine, better sounding speakers for this price, sounding great now more than 2 years.

Could have been a 5 star product
I am a TIC fan. I have a set of the Omni speakers planted in bib flower pots on my patio and was blown away by the sound. This year we added a cover to our patio and I wanted a set of speakers mounted on the outside of the house just for this covered area, so of course I went back and Amazon for a set of the ASP speakers. Unfortunately the one negative review that I saw for them concerned an issue with the locking knob that is used to position and tighten the speaker to the bracket. And of course I had the same issue on one of my speakers. The internal nut that is supposed to be firmly attached to the case was not and ended up falling back into the case so the now there was nothing to screw the knob into. Same exact issue as noted in previous reviews!! Clearly there is an issue with this. TIC was quick to RMA the unit, but detracted from the overall OUTSTANDING performance of the speakers. Clarity and overall sound quality is great. Don't believe I have heard better, and plenty loud, just ask the neighbors. These would have been a 5 star++ if not for the assembly issue.

Attractive Appearance, but Sound Mediocre
I listened to them with the switch set at "8 ohms" (the other settings are for professional 70-volt systems). First of all check the size - these are quite large. They come with sturdy mounting brackets and quality binding post-banana plug connectors. Now about the sound quality: Unfortunately, they sound like other "architectural" speakers I have heard, which is to say, not very good, even compared to the average indoor cheap speaker. "Just passable" would be my description. The high frequencies do not have good dispersal: they sound shrill and blaring on-axis, and actually better off-axis. Sonically, they seem to be designed for distance projection, similar to old horn speakers. I listened to classical (Beethoven), jazz (Joni Mitchell - Blue, for the voice qualities), and rock. Rock was OK, classical was muddy, and Joni was painful. They have a mid-bass peak, making them sound "tubby" but nothing in the bass lower than about 100 Hz. Given their size, the bass should be much better. There is a generally muddy quality. They might be OK for quiet background ambient music. On the plus side, the construction seems quite rugged - I hope they hold up in the desert heat where I live. Also, they are quite efficient - a 15 watt amplifier will drive them to excruciating levels. I used to have Yamaha outdoor speakers, and without a direct comparison, I remember that they sounded better. Two stars for the sound quality, four for the construction: average, three.

Improved Design and Better Sound!
Bought a pair to replace 11-year old pair of the same model. I never pulled the old pair inside during SC's relatively mild winters and speakers were only partially shielded under the roof's eaves. A long lifespan for outdoor speakers given this use and conditions.TIC improved the ASP120 design with:1) larger enclosure resulting in better bass (all outdoor installs are challenging for good bass);2) easier access to speaker terminals and the 8 Ohm/70 Volt selector is now on opposite end away from the speaker terminals, now it is much easier to reach both;3) maintained the same solid construction and weather proofing as before.Overall, noticeably better SQ in an improved enclosure and I was pleased with the previous version. Very hard to beat at a $120 price point per pair!

Sound Great, one minor flaw.
I can play music now for the entire neighborhood! And just for when we are sitting on my deck. My wife is constantly telling me to turn it down! They setup great and they work. I don't like the fact that they are powered all of the time. You either need a switch or access to the power supply plug to power them down. Since I had my electrician put in an outlet where they are mounted above my patio, I had to install an app controlled power outlet so I can power them down without climbing up on a ladder to unplug them. I probably should have gone with the smaller version, but they're up and working, sound great and the bluetooth connection is easy. Find a way to power them down and I would go five stars.
