Is this a multi cd player

Not in the traditional way - there is only one CD slot. However, I have put loads of CDs onto a USB memory stick (max 32GB) which pushes into the front of the unit and you can access each CD (and each track) through the remote handset. It works extremely well.

I have the sc-pmx92 version (gb version). has anyone else found that the d bass has very little (if any) effect on the bass sound?

Just lower your treble and up the bass, but you'll have to keep adjusting depending on the cd you play....

Does this hifi have RDS built in the radio

Yes, on FM. Full programme data also appears on DAB of course.
