The way I understand it, the trigger wire on a head unit is an input so that it knows when to display the camera. I would think that you would connect both the camera's power and the trigger wire to your brake light

Q: Can this camera be rotated 90 degrees within its housing for mounting on the side of a 5th wheel trailer looking back?

NO,The camera is packed into the case with a sealant.But you NO NEED to rotate 90 degrees within its housing to look back. There is a small purple wire/loop next to camera,just cut it,and power on again,then the image will rotate 90 degrees,and you get a correct image.

Q: Is this on all the time or can it be turned off inside the Chevy Colorado truck
