used with my dutch ovens, this Trivet is fantastic!
to begin with: the dimensions of the trivet are: about 9" in diameter, 1 7/8" high and the wire that makes it up is 0.180" thick (more than 1/8" thick).the construction is really good. it is very sturdy. Just what I was looking for to use in my dutch ovens.I wanted a way of raising my baking pans off the floor of the dutch ovens and this works perfectly. with a 9" round baking pan, I can truly bake breads, cakes and pies with no problems.I don't believe this Trivet was intended to be used as a roasting trivet. the flat ones I have works best for that. with the flat trivet and water you should get a perfect roast! but as someone said, this trivet is too high to use to roast a chicken or anything bulky.

Very useful addition to your cast iron cookware
This is a very heavy duty trivet, designed to support large dutch ovens, including the camping style with legs, on a table. It can also be used as a support for the dutch oven lid so you don't have to set it down in the beach sand or wherever. The legs are bent upwards at the end, so they won't scratch a table. It can also be used in a dutch oven to support a pan or bowl above the bottom of the pot. That's useful when you're baking biscuits or a pie, steaming a dish, or roasting vegetables wrapped in foil. I don't think I'd use this when roasting meat - it doesn't look designed to be a roaster rack.I also use it in the bottom of a Coleman camp oven that sits over a gas burner, to support a small toaster oven sized baking pan.It is also useful as an everyday trivet for camping or at home, although it's not particularly decorative, just functional.I'll have to wait and see how the welds and the chrome finish holds up before I'd give it five stars. I also wish it hard small pads on the legs, for better support on soft ground.

well made product
very heavy, well made chrome trivet, substantially made for heavy dutch ovens. Unfortunately I bought it for my Instant Pot, and it is too big for it.I highly recommend it for its intended use.

Nice trivet
I bought this trivet to use in a yet to be built solar oven it sits up over an inch above the base and will allow sun to hit the bottom of the pot. It is very sturdy and will handle cast iron with ease. I just bought a second one I liked it so much. I wish I could find one this tuff that was about four inches high but for now this will work well.

It works good with my 8 QT
I bought this to put on top of a CAMP CHEF FLAME TAMER. Now I can cook with thin metal pots and not scorch or burn them up. It works good with my 8 QT. CONVEX KETTLE WITH LID

Good Trivet
Good quality materials and construction. I would prefer it to be just a bit shorter but other than that it works fine. This keeps meat out of the fat drippings that collects on the bottom of the pot/Dutch oven. Combined with the aluminum inserts this makes for a clean cooking experience.

I use it inside the pot for campfire cakes
It fits perfectly inside the 5 quart iron dutch oven so that I can bake a cake in the dutch oven. I just put a little water in the pot, put the trivet inside the pot on the bottom, place a round cake pan filled with batter on the trivet (and tented with aluminum foil to keep droplets of water from dripping onto the cake batter), cover the pot with the iron lid and set the camp cake over the campfire grill or on the backyard barbie grill (or into the oven).
