Heaviest book I’ve ever owned.
This book is a monster. It weighs almost nine pounds lol. So happy to have it after a rather lengthy shipping time. It was packaged well and fits the description. Worth the money and the wait.

Pricey but Awesome
This was an expensive book. It arrived late because of the 3rd party seller which was frustrating. But the book itself is beautiful with tons of photos of amazing tats. Highly recommended if you’re deciding on a tattoo or just appreciate Japanese style tattoos.

A fitting tribute
I own a number of Edition Reuss books, and they are all huge, heavy, beautifully bound volumes for the true bibliophile, and this one is no exception. What makes this one different from all the rest is that it features the work and life of just one traditional Japanese tattoo artist---Horikazu.The photography is, as usual, just fantastic... Almost 500 pages of photos showing the artist, his studio, his family, and most of all, all the complete body suits of his clients---it is never mentioned, but all are obviously Yakuza---the Japanese mafia. Lots of group shots, posed and candid, of the master and his blood family and the "family" of his human canvases. There is a good deal of text---interviews with Horikazu and his son who took over the business after his death...and very informative writing about the underground world of old school Japanese tattoo. Also included are fascinating historical photos and a large number of his preliminary drawings, all with explanations of Japanese legends. All of the text is in English, German, and French.Even though I own many books on the subject, there was still much to be learned from this volume---highly, highly recommended.

Quality photographic record
Good, detailed, photographic record of one master's work. I've returned other irezumi books that didn't live up to the hype in the description, but this one is a quality publication.
