Carnation Breakfast Essentials, No Sugar Added French Vanilla, 0.705 Ounce Packets, 8 Count Box

I have to start my review by saying that I am a complete Instant Breakfast nerd and have been since I was little. I came from a home with two working parents and was a very picky eater. The only thing they could get me to consume in the morning was Carnation Instant Breakfast. Of course back then it was the full sugar variety because health consciousness didn't seem to be everywhere in the 1970's like it is now. Now as a working mother that has no time for breakfast, I found myself looking to my old friend in the mornings so I could get my day started with some nutrients and I wouldn't feel bad about skipping the so called most important meal of the day. Of course, being more health conscious in my older years, I found the no sugar added variety. Sadly, my local store only carries the chocolate flavor - which is great, but sometimes you want variety. I didn't know that another flavor existed and was thrilled to see it on Amazon. I ordered it immediately and am loving it! My soon to be high school daughter even used it as a base to make a breakfast smoothie and loved the taste. She has used the full sugar one in the past, but said she couldn't tell a difference in the two at all. This has a great vanilla flavor and is so delicious and satisfying while loading you up with all the vitamins you need to get you going in the morning. Personally, I add a little protein powder to my drink to give it a little added benefit and it is delicious. Sometimes, I even use this as a meal replacement in the evenings when I'm not hungry, but know that my body needs nourishment. I absolutely love this product and hope it continues to be available.

The only reason I gave it three stars is because I didn't care for the sugar free. I generally buy the regular ones and have for years and love them.

I feel this product is far TOO EXPENSIVE & for 8 pks!!!! My son needs this after an illness bt i think i could produce this for him for less & just must continue to give the additional vitamins & mineral that help!

This is good tasting for sugar free. I have looked all over for the sugar free that’s not double the price.

Harder and harder to find and I don't understand why. It a tried & true product for a easy and balanced breakfast, pick-me-up, or any time meal. With more people watching their weight &/or sugar intake, as well as the increase in the senior population, why isn't this product more readily available in stores?!?

I use this as a meal replacement when I want to lose some weight. It seems to work. Also good as a quick meal when I'm in a rush and don't have time for a regular meal.

I wish I could find this in grocery stores. It's also hard to find flavor assortments - I love the chocolate malt, strawberry and vanilla the best.
