Pet Eden Sweet Potato Dog Treats Made in USA Only, Grain Free Natural Healthy Snack Chews for All Dogs, 1 lb

The product in this latest bag appears to be a bit stale (dry) even though it is within the sell-by date. We have ordered many times before - most bags are wonderful, obviously fresh - dried sweet potato but not petrified ;) One other time, we got a bag that has product that looks, feels, smells "old." The dogs still eat these - not gonna send them back - , but the older dog has difficulty with them when they are too hard. Normally, I rate this as a 5-star product. Expensive but a natural dog treat I feel good about giving to my dogs - helps with teeth and the chewing urge. I will definitely reorder again and hope the next bag is back up to snuff.Update 1/17Today we received another bag of treats, this time perfect in quality. They are dehydrated, but still fresh and pliable. My previous order contained product that was edible for the dogs, but was too old/dry - hard pieces too tough for my older dog unless I soaked for a minute in water. This has happened before - so we love this product, but I'm holding on to my fifth star until we see more consistency in quality month after month. We've tried several brands/sizes/shapes of sweet potato treats. My dogs have no trouble digesting these and they are superior to others we tried. These are the best!

The product seems well made and I'm sure most dogs would love them. I'm trying to be fair and give them 3 stars because it arrived on time. Also my dog can be very picky with what he eats so I don't think it would be fair to give this product lower then a 3 star rating. The truth of the matter is however my dog won't eat the product at all. He treats them like raw hide once in a while n will hide it, but mainly he just spits it out n walks away making me bend over and pick it up. So since my dog won't even touch the product for the most part I can't give it a 5 star rating even if he's picky he tends to eat any other brand of sweet potato I have given him. So in conclusion basically the item looks to be made well, is all natural from what I can tell. It's priced well for the amount you get. My dog won't eat them even though he loves sweet potatoes treats but since he's very picky and the product was shipped timely I'll give it 3 stars.--For the COMPANY or AMAZON--If the company would be kind enough to let me ship back and exchange this for a different product of theirs I would gladly add that to my review and 2 stars for customer service and review the new product they give me. Or a refund would be amazing too, the bag is almost %100 full only gave him a few pieces to figure out he won't eat them.**update** I got a full refund of my money, amazing customer service I added the last 2 stars.

I've been giving my dogs sweet potato treats for a few years and decided to switch to a brand that doesn't have additives. I was very happy with the first bag that I received, the slices of sweet potato were just the right consistency. The slices were nice and long and I was able to cut them easily into strips with my kitchen shears. I was very pleased to have found what I thought was the perfect treat. However the second bag that I ordered was different. The sweet potato slices were extremely well done, some even burnt around the edges. This made them too crispy to cut. Also since my dogs are getting older and missing a few teeth 😕 I worry about the sharp edges cutting their gums. Very disappointed in the second bag, not OK for my older dogs. However if you don't mind the inconsistency of one batch being chewy and the other batch being crispy then I would recommend this all natural treat.

My dog loves the treats, scarfs them right up! I love them too: one ingredient, USA-grown sweet potatoes.But.......the expiration date was only 23 days from the date I received them. I have an 8 lb puppy and this is 1 lb of treats: we'd never use them in time and they are expensive! Bummed and irritated, I planned to return them. My husband then opened them unknowingly, and I chalked this up to an expensive learning experience.Fast forward a couple of weeks: I received a follow up email from Pet Eden saying they hoped I was satisfied, etc. On a whim, I replied that my dog loved the treats, but that shipping soon-to-expire product was a deal breaker for me and that I'd not be reordering. To my shock (in this day and age), they wrote back and explained (somehow in a non-defensive, kind, matter-of-fact posture) that Amazon is responsible for checking the dates of their stock (which, in turn, was the stock of Five Star Essentials LLC btw) and that they would contact them to notify them of the issue. In the meantime, they said, they were refunding my purchase in full and that I was welcome to keep the treats and use what I could. We also discussed freezing some, etc.I'm blown away. I feel customer service experiences like this are one in a million these days. Good, healthy, USA-grown food from a great company. 'Nuff said.P.S. I have just purchased another bag to have at my parents' home, but this time directly from the company website. I'll reorder as long as the pooch likes them!
