Nice tool to help MB spark plug & wire removal procedure...makes a tough job, easier !
Key tool here for doing the spark plugs on our M112 V-6 in my wife's e320 wagon. Will also come in handy when I do the plugs on my 2002 ML 500 with the M113 V-8.....at 16 plugs, I'm not looking forward to doing that job, but at least the right tool is at hand.I wouldn't try doing the job without this tool, there is such tight clearance there, that removal and also install of the new wires is far easier using this to, in effect, 'lever' the boot off the plug end, safely and with no real chance of breaking either plug or wire. One tip: Removing the Coils from the valve cover mount allows for more room to angle the wrench.Even though this might seem a hassle, I suggest it especially of you're doing both a plug & wire replacement - which only makes sense as the plugs should go 100 k miles and assuming that to be 5 years +, the wires may be suspect by that time, and due to the accessibility factor, replacing the wires only makes logical sense.I did both the plugs & wires on my wife's e320 and the resulting smoothness of operation is amazing. The engine now feels turbine like: a smooth & seamless flow of power, significantly improved over the old plugs & wires. For all you fellow MB owner who are serious DIY'ers, this is a practical, super $$$ saving 'routine maintenance' procedure !

Perfect tool for the job
Changing the spark plugs on my S500 would have been miserable without it. Worked as advertise. Simple design that works really well and saves a bunch of time removing the spark plug wires from the plugs.

Perfect fit for my M113 engine
Removed the spark plug boots easily in my R230 SL500 with M113 engine.... much easier than the pliers I used to use. It was especially useful in the hard-to-reach plugs towards the back of the engine.

This actually does the trick
This tool actually does the trick in enabling you to remove the boot without potentially breaking the spark plug. It will also limit but certainly not fully prevent you from tearing the rubber boots. If your Mercedes spark plugs have not been changed for 50-70+ miles, expect to tear at least half of the boots, as the rubber will have become bonded to the plugs. If you have never changed these type of spark plugs, be sure to take your time, as it is quite different. You need to pull straight-back, not side to side. This tool helps to get the leverage you need, using two hands. Again, this tool will not fully prevent you from tearing a boot, unless you have previously changed the plugs and used dielectric grease to prevent the boot from bonding to the neck of the spark plugs, unlike what the factory uses, which appears to create the problem in the first place. If this is your first time, buy extra boots from somewhere where they can be returned if not needed.
