Very nice story. Loved every part of it
Very nice story. Loved every part of it, the tiff between the cousins, how a distant relative saved the king from his own cousin, the war for the sake of love and sacrifice for love. Every part of the book has been so beautifully described. Must read!

What a waste of time
I have no idea why the novel is so well known but it was a silly children's story- weak and predictable plot, poor character development. It was a waste of time to pick it up and I ended up not finishing it. I guess it was a popular story for plays back in the day but certainly not worth it for an adult in today's world.

ACTION-PACKED CLASSIC
This was the story which set the template for swashbuckling adventures, with a charming, sardonic hero (in Rudolf Rassendyll), and an equally charming, handsome villain (in Rupert of Hentzau). And not to forget the beautiful heroine (in Princess Flavia), and, of course, the alluring femme fatale (in Antoinette de Mauban). Adventure, action, doomed love, heroics, it's all there, and, in this edition, with illustrations showing the history of the story in print, on stage and in film. Superb.
