Dear friend, it is only pencil case. the pencil case used widely for students, painter, makeup artist, writers & professional for storing various tool like Prismacolor / Crayola / Marco Raffine colored pencil, watercolor pencil, gel pen, marker, eraser, or cosmetic brush etc.

Q: Will the elastic bands hold one pen or do you need two pens in each band so they don't slide out?

I have a varied assortment in my case: regular pencils, "fat" tri-color, woodless, thicker metalic. The bands will fit 3 regular pencils, 2 fat/jumbo size, 3 woodless, and one has just 1 q-tip. Everything stays in place, so IMHO, one pen/pencil would work well, without sliding. The bands are 1.5 inches wide, and what I consider fairly heavy-duty. Hope that answers your question.

Q: Are the tomboy dual brush pens too tall for this case?

I do have a set of brush pens that fit nicely into this case, but they are not Tomboy. I would suggest measuring the pens and comparing to the measurements given. That being said, it is a really nice case for the price!
