Ball tip punch vs. flat punch vs. hollow punch? I can see the difference of course... but which one for a standard looking roll pin in a firearm?

The Ball Tip is used for roll pins, as the round/ball fits inside the roll pin to maintain roll pin diameter while pushing the pin out. it also gives the pin a shoulder to provide stability, so as the pin moves straight.

Even if there was a warranty....not worth the trouble.

Will one of these punch tools be the correct size to repair a tilt-head Kitchen Aid Mixer?

The sizing is inaccurate and the punches are not consistently machined. If you need a punch for ANYTHING spend some more money and get a quality set.
