On the front of the label it says 3 parts fulvic to 1 part humic. Then on the back it says Fulvic 14.04 mg. to humic 65.73.   Does that add up?

Hello, Per the manufacturer, the measurement of Fulvic to Humic 3:1 is by volume, not by weight. The two forms of minerals are different densities. By nature, Humic is heavier than Fulvic, so although it is only 1/4 of the bottle of Mineral Blend, the amount of Humic by weight is larger. We hope this helps answer your question!

The minerals used for our products are derived from ancient veins of decomposed fresh-water plant matter (not clay, or saltwater), called vegetal bio-mass Humate.  This Humate contains over 70-plus minerals that were naturally complexed into the Humate structure through the natural process of bio-synthesis, or Humification.

The source of Vital Earth Minerals’ Humate is found in the high desert mountains of northern New Mexico in the San Juan Basin.   These humic minerals are ionic in "form," meaning they are the same minerals present in an organic apple or broccoli, for example, grown in fulvic-rich soil.

They are NOT heavy metals, though the names of ionic, plant-derived minerals and the heavy metal, metallic form of mineral go by the same name. Because they are plant-derived, our minerals will not build up in tissues; the body will use what it needs and the rest will be flushed from the system.

Re: California Proposition 65 warning labeling for Lead
It is true that mineral rich Humate often contains naturally occurring lead in trace amounts, just as all fruits and vegetables have always contained trace amounts of lead.

Any invasive processing or attempts to remove naturally occurring lead, or any other minerals from our plant derived products, would literally sabotage the inherent benefits of our products.  Seeking to remove the lead would be akin to trying to remove the lead in green beans or other plant-based nutrition.

Vital Earth's raw humic source undergoes California Prop 65 testing. Vital Earth's vegetal biomass minerals are non-toxic according to Proposition 65 standards for "naturally occurring" substances.   Fulvic / Humic is scientifically classified as "Vegetal bio-mass minerals" and does not contain heavy metals.   Our minerals are "naturally occurring", originating from ionic Humate.
