Can I use each stand separately with the tbar?

You can use each stand seperately, however there are smaller stands designed for that purpose

What size case would this fit into? would it fit in the on-stage lsb-6500?

It is two 5 foot sections. That and the stands take a lot of space. I have'nt seen a case tat big in a while. This stuff is road worthy and almost roadie proof! Probably don't need a case.

Is there a metal sleeve that goes between the 2 trusses for support like other trusses? I only see a small plastic piece to pinch them together.

You could put the another light bar(thing in the middle) and make it 3 pieces. Instead of 2 you could put 3. Haven't tried it but I've heard of people doing it. Best of luck-Mark

Can you use just one of the 5' trusses between the 2 tripods?

You can use the single 5 ft section. However, that leaves only about 2 1/2-3 ft between the tripods.
