Blue Sea Systems 5129 Fuse ANL 200-AMP

When purchasing fuses always take a look at how they are constructed. The good ones will be made from a quality metal and be constructed in a way that provides reliability. At the same time I purchased this fuse I also bought a few no-name ANL fuses. The no-name fuses are made of plastic and thin metal and have a rivet hole right through where the fuse needs to conduct power and could be a source of failure and potential fire. The Blue Sea ANL fuse is constructed with mini rivets around the outside and the material seems to be fiberglass board that would be less susceptible to an overheating related fire. I'll keep the Blue Sea fuse and send back the no-name brands. Safety FIRST. Don't try to save a buck when working with high amperage DC devices. It's just not worth it.

I had to buy a new fuses for my solar setup. I have a cabin in Datil, NM and I have 50 100W panels on it charges the batteries and lights for the whole cabin along with the small appliances. The last day I was there before the winter my power kept turning off even on a sunny day. It turned out to be one of the fuses and this was a perfect fit to the fuse boxes that keep the batteries charged. Now I can go during the winter and not worry if I will have power.

The good quality I've come to expect with Blue Seas products. But pricey!

I am new to electrical systems and work. I have been building the electrical system in my van. I have bought a lot of crappy fuses and trip fuses not knowing what I was doing. Any way the learning curve is go with Blue sea. They use them in boats, they are top notch and reliable. It's just not worth trying to save a couple of dollars. You end up spending more and giving yourself endless head aches. Just go with Blue sea every time and you wont go wrong!

Blue Sea makes great products. These fuses are the real deal and ignition protected. Great for high output battery charger or panel feeds.

One of the best ANL fuse manufacturers you can find on Amazon. I've tested many of these fuse too and slightly beyond their rated capacity. The fuse performs as specified and within tolerances outlined. There are MANY MANY cheap and crappy fuses that will blow long before their rated AMP limit on Amazon. These will NOT.Chris
