Is this product cruelty free?

Any skin care brand can claim to be cruelty-free. There are no laws regarding this. Some US brands will have a PETA-approved logo, so you can look for that. Personal care brands can pay outside companies to conduct animal testing on their behalf, and then claim that they don't test on animals. It's a manipulation of their customers' trust because they can claim they don't test on animals, whilst they're paying someone else to do it. Brands sold on the Chinese market are always tested on animals. Contact the manufacturer and ask questions; i's your right as an informed consumer. And if a company isn't truthful and hasn't earned your trust, don't give them a penny of your money. That's the only way consumers can force change.
