20x Magnifier Jewelry Loupe LED UV Light 21mm Triplet Lens Optical Glass, Pocket Gem Magnifying Tool Jeweller, Stamp Philatelist, Coin Numismatic

I have a handful of loupes with and without LEDs and this is head and shoulders above the rest, It's really, really solid, all metal with a high quality matt finish, and very well built. It's got a crimmped swivel where the lens folds out so no screw to come undone, and it has nylon washers, so the lense unfolds very smoothly. The optics are the best I've had yet, super sharp, but remember you do need a steady hand and need to get up close to get a stable view in focus, and there is not a great depth to focus as is to be expected at this magnification. The magnification is superb, compared to my old loupe which are meant to be 30x I was prepared to be a bit disappointed with 20×, but no, this seems to have higher magnification than 20x and the clarity is excellent. The LED both uv and white do exactly what they are meant to do, the white LED in particular is very bright. It even comes with a proper, useable, durable case, with a foam insert and a key for the battery compartment. This is a real gem, it's just the sort of superb little useable that I lose, but wait, no! - fellow Amazonians, it even comes with, yes, a lanyard - Oh happy days! My only criticism is that the battery compartment lid is arranged so that if not put back carefully, it can crush the LED wires, so now you know. I spent a bit more on this one from a UK supplier as I was concerned about cheaper imports that might have been a dissapointment, I have no regrets. (I don't know what sheerness is btw:-)

If you want a powerful magnifying glass then do not get this specialist tool. It is not a toy. I find it difficult to use but I think that is my problem not the fault of the tool.
