Good bike, bad instructional support
Like the bike. Only downside was The instructions. They were a compilation of 3 or 4 small to large pamphlets, not well orgabized/indexed. Seems more relevant for spot repairs or maintenance. Not initial assembly. And if u are not really good at figuring bikes out (have a bike repair guy in the family), they wont be sufficient for u to assemble on your own. Eg, theres no step by step this is how u assemble. The "this is ---" page didnt name all the parts that you need to work with. Eg front wheel bar/ axle came w 2 springs on it. Instructions were silent on that and or how to deal with that, where springs fit etc. In the end, we deduced the needed to be on each side of the wheel, which makes sense in hindsight, but since we were thinking they were connected/one spring, that took a while...so we got it worked out, but no thanks to the instructions. So bike good, recommend. Instructions not so good. Suggest company just put the effort into providing a step by step guide to bike assembly.

Great Value Fitness Hybrid Bike
Great bike for the buck. Researched for about a month to replace a Trek, and the Raleigh Cadent 2 was well received by bike web reviews and cycling journalists. Bike was very well packaged, and arrived 90% assembled. And bonus, all tools are included that you will need to assemble the bike.As other reviewers stated, the instructions or lack of instructions included in box with bike could have some feeling overwhelmed at first, but you can find videos on the Raleigh website (or just google Raleigh bike assembly), and they break it down to basically 4 steps. Took me a little under an hour to assemble, and that was taking my time and included unpacking from box and removing protective wrappings.

Very Decent Bike for the Price
This bike is very Decent for the price. It competes with bikes like Trek FX, Giant Escape, Specialized Sirrus, Etc... These bikes all have their trade-offs, but are VERY similar. The one thing this bike is lacking that some of the competitors have is hydraulic brakes, but at a significantly lower price than these other bikes, I don't think its fair to judge the bike on just that. As with all bikes, it will require tweaking and adjustment of brakes and derailleurs after assembly, as well as after a few rides when cables start stretching. My main complaint is that some of the details are a little off... The cadent logo on the top tube is a little askew and the Raleigh logo on the front is not quite centered. Other than those two minor things, the bike seems like a win. Regarding the brakes... If you are considering upgrading to hydros, this bike uses combo shifter/brake levers, so it will require replacing shifters too. Not the end of the world since the stock shifters are nothing special. Overall a great bike for the cost.

Great bike
Love this bike. It's light is string and fast and it looks great too. After having my bike shop do tune-up I was out on a road. Now I have a 100 mile ride that I'm planning for and I know this bike ring disappoint.

Perfect bike for getting around the city.
I am a septuagenarian who bought this bike to ride to the library, grocery store, park, etc.I have used it for several months and am totally satisfied with it.Pros:* Easy to assemble* Relative light* Gears change smoothly and the bike rides smoothlyCons:* The chain brushes against the metal when the gears are set at extreme angles. With practice, I have learned (and you can too) how to avoid this brushing by setting the pedal and wheel gears to mid-ranges to get the desired ratio.

Great quality bike!
My college-age son is really happy with this bike. He originally ordered a different brand but wasnt satisfied with the quality, so we returned it. He likes everything about the Raleigh; for both style and quality, it's exactly what he was looking for. My husband is also impressed.

Awesome bike. Needs a tune up out of the box.
Highly recommended. Truly a beautiful hybrid bike (the blue powder coating is gorgeous). Very smooth drive. Sturdy bicycle. I have a Raleigh Cadent 1 as well; the disc brakes and the upgraded derailleur are the most noticeable improvements pertaining to the Cadent 2. Disclaimer: albeit the bike assembly was not very complicated, the bike I received demanded a fine tune up by a professional from out of the box. Fortunately, there is a great bike mechanic offering home services in my area (greater New Orleans area). It provides unique convenience and allowed me to avoid the bike shop walk of shame together with the potentially resulting overpriced tune up.

Very nice bike. Blue color is great. Easy to put together. Nice disc brakes. Would like to see a kick stand included.
