Some tricks you should know about installation that they don’t tell you…
I bought these tail lights because my OEM ones had hairline cracks and were letting in water causing my “brake light” control to keep flashing. I have a couple of recommendations for installation. First, after you remove the old tail light assemblies, stop and clean all the dirt with soap and water, especially where the rubber gaskets will lay against the body of the car. You really want a smooth surface that is water tight. Second, inspect and clean your electrical connectors. Make sure there is no oxidation. Third, Vaseline! These tail lights are a tight fit so apply a decent amount of Vaseline all around the rubber gaskets that come into contact with the body of the car so they slip in nice. Forth, tighten the nuts in a rotation until they are seated all the way down and tight. If the tail lights aren’t seated all the way down they WILL let in water… which I suspect is what happened to some of the guys in the reviews. Do not use a drill or impact driver as to not warp or crack your new tail lights. Take your time with a socket rotating from nut to nut. Lastly these aren’t a 100% perfect fit but they are VERY close. You may get a little over hang but it’s really unnoticeable. The construction of these taillights I would rate at a medium quality, sturdy but not without flaws. Overall I am happy with this purchase. I personally wish they came with the stock amber blinker but it is what it is. I really like that on these tail lights your original OEM bulb holders swap right over. For the price, fast shipping, and decent build quality, I recommend this product for someone needing a replacement or modifying for a better aesthetic.

Look nice, but poor workmanship, blew fuses
I bought these because my 22-year old original rear lights were having all kinds of issues with connections to the bulb terminals. These were a nice price, and looked close enough to OEM for my purposes. The main difference in appearance between these and OEMs is that the turn signals are clear, whereas for OEMs they're amber. The outer seal on the left rear lights didn't get put on right, so it was bunched up and raised up. It's a tight fit to push these where they go, so this was a definite problem. Some garage-style engineering with a knife, combined with some careful installation worked around this problem okay. Something like this didn't surprise me, given the price I paid for these. (I didn't get a picture of this defect, sorry.)The real kicker is that after I got these installed, when I turned my parking lights on, it blew fuses so that just my right side parking lights were off. After a while of diagnostics, I discovered that the one of the new light fixtures itself was shorting out! The attached picture shows the cause. The sheet metal electrical paths were clearly punched out of some pre-scored sheet metal before installation. Whatever idiot installer did mine failed to completely detach these two pieces from each other. Ripping off this little tab with a pair of pliers fixed the problem. In the end, these lights appear to have fixed my original issues, and they really do look nice and seem sturdy. Given the defects I ran into, I should probably have returned these and/or given them a lower rating, but I got them to work for me, so I'm happy. 3 stars, I guess.Note that while the title says these are for E46 body style, these fit my E36 (1998 328i) just fine, so I assume that's a typo.

Don’t expect a perfect fit.
Looks great! However, the lines didn’t exactly match up. The seals around the lens weren’t put on correctly, but with a little creativity and some tools around the house. I was able to get them on right. I noticed a few places where things weren’t lining up, like on the trunk drainage, but managed to sand it down for a near perfect fit. 3 stars

Cheap and broken
Had to return because they arrived broken. Quality is cheap as mentioned in other reviews but they’re priced cheap so what can I say.
