Fantastic product, ignore those who ignore the package warnings.
Update 11APR2018: after playing with both of the top selling cat feather toys, I can say without a doubt that MY CAT likes original 'Da Cat' feather toys over the competition, and in large part, it comes down to the design. Other toys have larger feathers, fewer of them and a larger 'nut' or rubber connector where the feathers are attached to the string, Da Cat has a smaller 'nut' and it appears to be softer, good for the cat's teeth and claws. For MY cat feathers are all about quality and quantity, smaller fluffier feathers get his attention over larger stiffer feathers. To that person out there who posted an x-ray of there cat with the 'nut' in its stomach, there is NO WAY, NONE that your cat was able to ingest a rubber and feather connector, attached by a chain to a strong string while under supervision. NONE. You ignored the warning on the package 'DO NOT LET CAT PLAY WITH UNATTENDED" Shame on you for ignoring basic safety and then trying to defame a company that makes a great product. Both of the leading cat feather toys are a treat for my cat, but given a choice. nearly everyday he chooses this product. I am on my 5th one in a couple of months, we play daily. Great toy, well designed, well constructed and innovative.

My Cats Rate This Toy 5 Stars
This is the best toy I've found for cats - across the board. We have 19 formerly abandoned or feral cats who live in our home. There are many toys that appeal to a small portion of the feline population. Several really like to chase the laser lite. A few really like the sparkly strips on a stick toy...some like toys stuffed with catnip...but almost ALL of our cats loved this toy. Even the cats who were stand-offish and wouldn't play with other toys quickly entered the game with this toy. The Da Bird is unique in that the way it is constructed with two long, harder feathers facing each other and smaller fuzzier ones on the outside. The construction makes it so that when you swing the toy through the air it moves and flutters just like a real bird. Cats love it!The only problem was that the toys don't hold up that well... Our cats play aggressively and some of the Da Birds only lasted a day or two before the feathers were separated from the little cap that holds them. We soon started re-gluing the feather units in place (using Elmer's school glue). This got us a little longer wear time with the toys.I definitely recommend this toy to those looking for something fun for their kitty or kitties.

BOOM! If it can wear out a Bengal then it got to be good.
BOOM! This product it the best cat toy I have purchased. I bought a 4 foot stick from Home Depot and 4 feet of fishing line and BOOM my cats love this thing. I have a Bengal cat and an Egyptian Mah and they chase this thing around till they find a corner to rest. To get my high energy bengal to rest is a miracle in itself and have not been able to do it with any other toy. I read comments about peoples cat toy not twirling or it breaks easy: It is made of feather and my cats do catch it and like to chew on it so I have to put it up. Every morning and night they let me know they want to play so it will last about 2 weeks or a month, thats pretty cheap if you compare it to the price of a venti frappuccino thats gone in a few minutes. Note: this is the three feather the refill is only two but the cats love it all the same.

Kitty Crack
We found this toy about 20 years ago. You would think that all feather toys at the end of a string are equal. Not so.Da Bird makes a great "whirring" sound as you make it fly through the air. Our cats can't resist it. Bop it gently on the ground and it mimics a little ground critter. Make it fly toward the cat and flip it in the air just before it gets to them and you have some high flying kitties.Other feather toys clip on the same way, but my cats get bored quickly even with the same motions we do with Da Bird. Pull out Da Bird, and it is like kitty crack. They can't get enough. Thanks to the TV show "My Cat From Hell," we learned to "play, kill, eat." Teasing and making them run around is the play. Letting them catch it and fight it gently in their mouths gives them the impression of the kill. Then we feed them. Happy cats are less destructive and attack each other less.

Like most every cat on the planet
Like most every cat on the planet, my cat goes nuts for her Da Bird toy. The feather teaser has held up very well given how much she loves to gnaw on it after catching it. It is still functional but pretty torn up and not as amusing as it was when it was new. I added this refill to a large order as an afterthought and am so glad I did -- kitty is crazy about Da Bird again! I've found that this one doesn't make noise the way the standard Da Bird feather did when it was new, but she doesn't seem to care about that. I am slightly concerned about the longevity of the guinea fowl feathers -- after a week of daily play the feathers are mussed and just a bit scraggly. I will update this review after more time has passed.
