Does this soap contain food-grade lye?

While it is true that there is no lye in any soap, from reading the ingredient list it seems to be natural soap, which is necessarily made from either sodium- or potassium- hydroxide, which are two forms of lye. During the chemical reaction called saponification, lye is mixed into water or another water-based liquid, then the lye solution is mixed with warm, liquid and/or melted solid fats such as tallow or lard or coconut or palm oil. Over a period of about 24 hours, the water, lye and fat molecules break apart and reform as soap and glycerine molecules, and the mixture hardens up. Modern manufacturing removes the glycerine from soap, sometimes adding other detergents to the soap, then uses the glycerine, which is hygroscopic (water-loving) and attracts water molecules, to make lotions to put back the moisture and oils removed from the skin through use of soap.

What is the Shelve life. I may have baught to much

There is no official shelf life. They should be good for a while

All natural!

These bars are huge and will last a long time. Love the scent. Very fresh and clean without being perfume-y, thanks to the all-nature ingredients. Highly recommend it, and thanks to Brenda Gantt for her endorsement.

Smells great!1

This is a great value and great smell! If you are vegan or vegetarian this soap is NOT for sure (not in a negative way) but it lathers well and smells great. Thank you!

Great soap.

This is really Amish farms soap. A lot of sellers here on Amazon are selling fake stuff. This is great soap. Smells very pleasant. All colors are the same scent. Kind of like Dove soap. These are huge bars. I cut it in half, so half a bar of soap lasts me about 3 months. I've used this brand for quite some time, and I really like it. It doesn't leave a soap film like some do.

Absolutely the BEST !!!

First & foremost, do you have any idea how BIG a 10oz bar of soap is ? i've taken to cutting off chucks to use in the shower so it fits in the soap dish - lol. They last a long long time, lather great, clean really really well. Your skin will love you for using these. An excellent value. Highly recommended.

Very nice product

This soap is mild and has a nice scent. The only issue I have is that these are 10 oz. bars. I actually have to cut them in half in order to handle them more easily. It would be nice if the company scored the bars so that you could just snap them in half. Otherwise I would give the soap 5 stars.

The bars are much larger than most which is really cool. The various scents are pleasant, not overpowering. This is a great deal.

Good soap if you are looking for plain bar soap

The size of each bar is large, which I like, and they don’t smell like they are saturated with perfumes, which I also like.
