Good sign, great price. Barcode not a problem.
This is a great sign at a great price. Yes, it is fairly thin aluminum but I put these on a fence so that didn’t matter. Several reviews mentioned a bar code sticker on the front that was difficult to get off. They don’t appear to use a sticker anymore, the bar code is now printed on the front as part of the white outline. Some reviewers thought this was unsightly, I didn’t find it bothersome at all and certainly not worthy of only giving a one star review. If this is a problem, it could be solved with a black marker pen!My old signs were 5 years old and had faded. If I have to replace these later due to fading, at $4 a piece I can live with that.

PRODUCT NOT AS DESCRIBED -- VERY THIN AND BARCODE ON FRONT!
Very flimsy material although it is aluminum (it is extremely thin). ALSO -- There is a big 1.5 inch BARCODE on the BOTTOM LEFT corner which is not pictured. Misleading. I would not have bought it if I knew that was there.

Thin Metal, Clear Text
Warns expected or unexpected visitors of a dog in property. For former: good for letting PG&E, cable, maintenance, etc know before handFor the latter: you may get into some legal issues if your dog were to bite a robber as "Beware" is a loose legal term. They can use it against you depending on state laws and lawyers involved. Will detour most (if not all) robbers though if they don't want to risk getting bitten, but if they're desperate and proceed they can potentially sue you and win. If you purchase for this purpose, better to have a sign that reads: "Dog WILL bite you. we are not held responsible"Onto the sign itself:Text is very large and clear. Very visible from a distance (unless you're really near sighted).Has painted on barcode on lower right. Can be a bit distracting, but not really an issue. If you can't stand it, just use a sharpie and color over itMetal is very thin. Not really an issue for it's intended use.Mounting tools/accessories not included, but the sign does have a hole punch near each cornerNot sure about an weather damage long term. I'll update this review if I notice any rust or fading

I have a 210 lbs Mastiff
She speaks for herself but if they cant see or hear her, you gotta warn them. This sign does its job. It prepares those that come around for what they are about to witness....a 210 pound Mastiff with a shitty disposition. She doesn't like strangers but loves the family. Signs posted on every gate so they cant say I didn't warn them.

Does the job.
I often have the local power company, AT&T and cable providers ask to enter my back yard as it's the easiest way for them to access the utility pole on the easement behind my house. A couple of them in the past have entered my yard without asking and this was never a problem until I adopted a large 65 pound black lab/border collie mix. He's friendly to me and visitors to my home but would very likely not be friendly to someone entering my yard when he's outside. So, I decided to get a sign to hang on the gate and decided on this one. I hung it with zip ties and it's large enough and noticeable enough that hopefully it will encourage service personnel to ring my doorbell before entering the yard. Yes, it's a little thin but I have it fastened in such a way that it won't whip around in a wind and damage it. Fine for what it is.

NOT AS ADVERTISED
Another review mentioned a UPC on the front of the sign. The sign I received had a white sticker covering the UPC. In addition, the sign was clearly used. You can tell because the top screw holes are damaged from backing the screws out. There was also a slight dent in the sign.

Great signs will last a long time
I mounted 8 of the "No Dumping" signs around a 3/4 acre parcel I own that people and the Town Highway Dept. thought was their private dumping area. After clearing the debris, using a short ladder, I posted the 8 signs. I cut plywood backs for the signs. I screwed the plywood to the trees using 2 longer screws and then attached the metal signs to the plywood using 4 small wood screws. Highly visible and durable. Also a great price compared to other vendors. Thank you.

Really big sign! But needs some improvements...
I gave it four stars, since I think an improvement to this sign would be the following:1) add a drawing of a barking / aggressive / showing teeth dog (like a German Shepherd or Rottweiler or Doberman Pinscher). -- this way, people that can't read English, will understand the concept for the sign by looking at the picture of the dog barking/growling (i.e. showing teeth).2) make the sign letters reflective during night time.3) "Beware of the dog" is too wordy, best to keep it shorter "Beware of Dog"4) get rid of the scan barcode on the front of the sign. Move it to the back if you need it somewhere.

It would cost me more in gas to return this $3.15 POC
Is it metal yes.Is the size as described yesGood thing the seller did not post the thickness because no one would purchase this unit.Is it better than plastic yes.The sign appears to be painted black with an orange decal stick on it.Think of a piece of aluminum foil and times that by 2 maybe 3 and you get a sense of how thick this sign is.One thing is sure is in order to mount it to a tree or post you first have to affix it to a piece of board because if the wind catches the thing it will surely bend.I shudder to think what happens after it goes through one of our Canadian winters.I thought about returning it but it would cost me more in gas to drive to the Canada Post location than it is worth.I guess I will suck it up buttercup.

Not worth it
Do not purchase this sign. It is thinner than a tin can. You can see my left hand bending it easily in the pictures attached. The letters also scratched easily.I only kept it because my husband has an auto shop with a plasma cutter so we cut thicker metal and attached a frame to the back, then screwed it onto a post in our yard. I also sprayed it with a clear coat since it was scratching before that. Unless you have these resources, it is not worth it.

very thin metal with cancer warnings and extra texts on the front
I was expecting thicker metal predrilled with holes like regular hardware signs you find in stores. These are as thick as maybe 2 sheets of 20lb inkjet paper, and arrived a little bent. I can only see them getting damaged quickly with anything bumping lightly into them. The first thing I noticed was the cancer warning label meaning they must be painted in lead paint? Strange for today's times. So many paint alternatives that are toxic free and these are a health hazard.I have tresspassers daily from the postman to the public sac delivery guys who love to cross lawns rather than go up and down driveways. I have holiday lighting and lots of electric wires and decor going through my lawn, and each year something gets broken because these people will cut through and trip over wiring and break things rather than walk like a normal person on the designated driveway. I installed security cameras just for these clowns. Also, will have to purchase fencing to ruin the look of my frontage because in summer they just love cutting through the lawn even if its treated. No respect. So I purchased these signs to modify with my Cricut and vinyl. They don't quite say what I want. I don't want to touch them too much because of the apparent toxicity levels cancer and reproductive warnings. I thought painting would be an option but vinyl will have to do it wearing gloves. Then I have to drill holes at least on the top two corners to nail them on a wood backing or tie wrap them. Or nail them to a pole.If I nail them to a wood frame I can have these for years and never have to touch them.I could have bought aluminium flashing at the hardware store and cut down to size, then cut my own sign with the Cricut which I may do. I just thought for $4 I could spare myself the work and $10 vinyl materials. If you have something quick you need this for get it. Otherwise, keep looking.
