Hoover F5808 SteamVac Carpet Cleaner, Factory Serviced

I have had this cleaner for over 3 years. I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a bevy of neighborhood kids running in and out. This steam cleaner works well for getting basic grime sucked up from the carpet, I am always amazed how dirty my water is even though I clean monthly. It needs to be moved slowly 2 x over each section. Does not dry fast and not happy with the rinse capability overall. What I find works best is do a pass with the cleaning solution then a pass with plain hot water. It does not have scrubbing brushes however so more set in stains will need hand scrubbing to help loosen. I am looking into upgrading to a newer Hoover with scrubbing brushes but this is a really good affordable way to get a basic clean. It has worked well on getting freshly made dog stains (the number 2 kind)if I get it immediately, but requires several passes and is time consuming. But any deep cleaning job takes time.

Very sweet machine seems very durable sturdy great suction very easy and fun to use very happy with purchase as seller did a great job from all areas Thank You super nice quality if you don't have one this is a sweet machine.

I've had this product for about 2-3 weeks now and it's working solid thus far. We had some pretty heavy dog urine problems and it seems to be getting them up very well with just hot water. I am very impressed so far, very good value for the price. Let's just hope it lasts.

I had had a Hoover SteamVac before, and loved it. After about 10 years it started to have some problems, so I thought I would get a replacement. On the new F5810 the top reservoir leaked when I filled it. I had drips all the way from the sink to the machine. Then the lip of the return reservoir cracked. Then...the machine stopped sucking water. It released water whether I was pressing the pump or not...and never vacuumed it up. So...now I have a sopping wet carpet and non-functioning machine. Fortunately I had kept my old machine and used it to vacuum up the water.

My machine came with various attachments which required assembly. It was a real pain to try to figure out how to attach the hose assembly to the body and I finally gave up. I wish I had saved a few bucks and just bought the basic machine without the attachments. I have not used them yet but suspect they would be essentially useless with a basic machine like this.And it is very basic. It's certainly Not a steam vac. The water is only as hot as what you initially put into the cleaning reservoir.I followed the instructions and slowly passed the machine twice over a small area with soap dispenser button on, and then twice with it off.The carpet was barely damp afterwards but also none of the stains were removed. The dirty water reservoir filled with only a couple inches of water after 10 minutes of use when the yellow stopper plugged up the intake and I had to empty it and also refill the soapy water reservoir .On my second tank the dirty water reservoir never filled at all even though the soapy water reservoir was half empty when I finished the job.Upon finishing my cleaning I noticed only marginally improved appearance of the carpet, with most stains still pretty much as they were before cleaning, but I should add that my carpets were very stained and had never been properly cleaned before.This machine may be ok for frequent touch up cleaning but it is no substitute for a professional cleaning.

I bought a demo model of this kind. Which is pretty much new. Right away I was disappointed because it had no hand tool for our stairs. The brushes on the bottom don't rotate. It has good suction power, but I feel takes too long for the sprayer to effectively wet the carpets. Overall I think it is a good to decent product for the money, if you don't need a heavy duty machine. Also if you don't have steps or need an upholestry tool this model is great probably for apartments or single story houses with only a few rooms of carpet! I however have kids and older carpets so I invested in a bit more expensive bissell pro heat because I need something a bit more heavy duty that can do steps!

I bought this for my son, who is in college. He says it works well and is just what he and his roommates needed to keep the carpet clean and ensure that they get their deposit back when the time comes.
