These are all individially-addressable LEDs, meaning that the controller it's attached to can make any individual LED any brightness or color it wants. Normally the only way to control this type of LED would be with a Raspberry Pi or Arduino type setup. But this product includes a controller and a ton of presets. These offer something for every holiday: Multicolored for Christmas, orange for Halloween, and Red/White/Blue for July 4th, or just plain white for outdoor lighting. Plus 100+ others. There really are no better out-of-the-box lights in terms of patterns offered than these. They are also quite bright on the brightest setting.2 minor complaints:First is that with only a tiny bit more effort, they could have made the app way better and more customizable. For example, there's no way to fine-tune a solid color on the RBG scale. And the "flashing speed" slider is still quite fast even on the lowest setting. All stuff that a programmer could improve in less than a day.Second is that the controller and power supply are not waterproof and you will need to protect them from the weather somehow. A small plastic box with a lid, and a hole in the side would be perfect.I'm not taking a star off for either of these issues though, because overall they are still great quality lights that seem they are durable and will last a long time. For those who are super picky about light patterns and colors (like me), you can always upgrade the controller to a more advanced one that you can program yourself. This is probably what I'll do in the long run.

The media could not be loaded. December 13, 2021 Update: These lights are majestic!! They are bright and dimmable, sturdy and weather proof. However, be sure to unplug when not in use. Some lights may be energized for too long an may not be responsive to the control box. I left mines up all year and never unplugged them. Big mistake on my part. The lights still worked perfectly, except for some LEDs that stayed solid.But ELight replaced both sets, and had an amazing Customer Service Representative, Steve, here in the United States, call me, coach me through the refresh process, teach me about potential issues, and resolved the issue!!!!!!!! This company really cares about their customers! If you have an issue, send them an email first, or message, and they will get back to you promptly and do their best to help. I would rate them 7 - STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!Previous Post in 2020: These lights are the ultimate alternative to Twinkly!! Less than half the price, superior quality, and very well made. Once you download the app, follow the instructions which are so few yet so simple, plug it in, and play with the settings you will be blown away!!! You can even control brightness, speed, colors, solid or multiple, auto or set your own mode. Bluetooth not Wi-Fi!! Ohhhhhhhh did I mention, you can daisy-chain up to 10 different light sets!!! I'm buying more before they sell out!!! My God!!! If you wanted a colorful light changing LED Christmas Light set, this is it!!!

Work great but the Sun baked away the plastic, causing yellowing of the lights after one summer on my RV. They still look decent but would probably be better if their plastic didn't deteriorate from sunlight.

This was my first project with these type of lights and they worked perfectly for the chasing effects I wanted. I built a movie theater marquee for about $100 including the cost of these lights. There are several patterns to choose from but most of them are repetitions with different colors. The app uses Bluetooth to connect to the lights so you have to be close to change colors/patterns. I have since discovered WLED and would probably buy different lights ONLY because I would not need their controller and software to run them. These have been up for 3 years now and work wonderfully. Solidly built and can be used outside. I would definitely buy them again if I didn't want to use WLED (open source and completely free software that integrate with Matter and Home Assistant--awesome stuff!). If you want a complete out-of-the-box setup without having to connect a questionable app to your home network, get these lights.

these lights are beautiful. but unless your willing to have to buy new conroller box for them every time you use them. i wouldnt buy them. i have bought 4 different sets and a set of there icicle lights. so 5 sets. i only use them for one month, once a year and then there very carefully organized and packed safely till next yr. this is my 3rd yr i have had these lights and including the first yr i have had to replace the conroller box. the first yr i could return them. but after that there is no more guarantee. so then you have yo buy the conroller box from the company separately. so last yr i had to buy a few of them because they didnt work after i take them out from storage to use them. this yr again the same thing. luckily i was smart last yr and bought 2 extra just in case. so this yr i unpack the lights and 2 of my lights didnt work. so like i said i had bought two extra conrollers last yr. but these lights shouldnt stop working after only being used for one month once a yr. there not cheap and you shouldnt have to buy a new conroller every single year. i must add you can only find these specific conrollers from this company and the lighs are useless withought this controller box and they have been sold out of them now for awhile. so dont wast your money.
