This is a really excellent, classy book. Some of the information might be slightly outdated, but most of the beauty, fashion, and lifestyle tips are still quite relevant. This book made me feel a bit more confident in myself and in the fact that there is nothing wrong or conceited with wanting to look your best. Also, the pictures are beautiful. Highly recommend.

My Mom (who is Italian too) had this book for years & used many of Ms. Loren's make-up, skin & excercise tips & techniques. They must work because both my Mom & Sophia are about 80 now & look fabulous.2 things she recommends in this book that saved me money & make a huge difference in my skin & body. A 1 hour walk daily & using olive oil to remove make up & as a skin moisturizer. Even though this book is 30 years old these beauty tips are timeless.

I can't say enough about how great this book made me feel as a woman. I am buying it for my friend who was my maid-of-honor 35yr ago. Practical beauty tips and inner beauty wisdom. Sophia's elegance and warmth are contagious. Many wonderful color photographs. I think I'll get a copy for my daughter as well.

I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviewers. Even though this book was written in the 80s, Sophia is so timeless in everyway that her outlook then still applies today. So glad I got this book. I absolutely love it and her advice just makes sense and it is a reminder how truly fun it is to be a woman! This book can be given to girls in her teens and older. Classic!

still reading, but enjoying so far.Yes, it is an older book, so yes, some of it may be outdated. But for the most part, these are just classic, timeless tips from someone who, while known as outwardly beautiful, has an inner beauty and a passion for helping other women see theirs, as well. I love that.having lived in Italy, I have a fascination for just about all things Italian. That being said, I was not a Sophia Lauren fan until a few years ago, when I happened to watch a biography show about her. I confess, in my mind, I had her relegated to "beautiful lady whom I cannot relate to, ever"...ha!I saw the bio show, and discovered her history and her way of looking at life, and it CHANGED ME. sounds hokey, but true. It actually helped me change my own approach to how I saw myself, and how I treat my husband when he comes home from work. It helped me prepare for a character I was to portray in an indie movie, even...A woman who knows she is valuable, who knows her worth, who decides within that she is beautiful, loving, amazing, with or without curves and other sensual aspects...is attractive and sensual no matter what. We get to choose how we see ourselves and what persona we put on...and it can be authentic.I am a Christian. My life is about loving others. But it took a show about Sophia Lauren to help me understand how that could specifically be enhanced as a FEMALE.so, this little book has been a delightful tag on that for me.

What a great book for any woman. Like the other poster mentioned, although it was written a few decades ago, it IS still relevant. I love the way she writes, easy to read and some great tips. Also makes a great coffee table book as it is an interesting, fashionable book of beauty.

The book has stains and it has frayed corners on cover. Not happy with the book
