Q: Can this be used in a 1st floor flat on the windows

My only concern with that is that even though they are strong they still do on the odd occasion lose there there grip and fall off the window! It’s happened to me a few times creating quite a mess on the floor. I guess it depends on your location and what’s directly below your window location.

Q: How did you attract birds to this feeder? I have mine up a couple of days but no visitors yet

I'm afraid the birds haven't visited this feeder, maybe because we have a dog. The squirrels had a good go at it and managed to knock lots of the seeds on to the ground. I don't think we are going to have much success with it, unfortunately.

Q: Do you end up with bird poop down your window and wall?

None on the window and wall. There is bird poop on the ground

Sorry, I can give you the answer as I no longer have the feeder for well over a year now. It kept falling off the window and finally it gave up its ghost. Main reason was because a pigeon would sit on the roof of the feeder and weaken the suctions.
