Great oil for the price. Helps ALOT on cold starts
I am the type of guy who normally uses the top of the line oil like royal purple (40$-50$ for 5 Quarts). I recently started using this oil in my 04 Silverado with 210,000 miles. I've never had any engine issues whatsoever on my L59 5.3. I wanted to try this oil because first off, I was tired of spending well over $60 for 6 quarts of royal purple and a filter and I wanted to see if the "Magnatec" was just a gimmick or a thing these days (most products are with engine products). I have to say the oil definitely keeps the top end of the motor quiet with lifter noise on startup, especially in the winter which is what I wanted. Will continue to use this as the oil seems to hang around in the critical parts when the motor isn't running. With that being said, I have never had to tear down the motor and dont plan on it, so it is difficult to truly tell.Update as of 10/5/18: Getting ready to drain this out of my motor as it is time for an oil change. Dipstick and oil coloration still looks new even at 215,000 miles. This oil still helps on those cold starts where I used to get some lifter noise. Have not heard it since using this.

Great oil great price.
I'm doing a filter every 4-5k and oil every 8 or every other filter and this oil still passes my experience testing. I look at the color and feel it between my fingers . I have worked on European vehicles for over 20 years and was looking for a good high mileage maintenance oil that I could go above the typical 5-7k range . I wanted to see if I could double the intervals and so far so good I switched from motul to this in my daily family cars (nothing beats motul imo in tourtured sports/performance cars)I am saving money and getting a longer interval with no losses that I can detect in my not so sciency testing . So much so that I would like project farm to test this oil. The price I pay is slightly above Amazon basics Wich ive read is a fantastic oil but this is working so I didn't want to gamble

Great price for 5 quarts of oil. Will def repeat buy.
I baby my car, so I change oil every 2-3k miles (full synthetic). If you get the subscription it's around $15 per 5 quarts. Pretty damn good deal. Might just buy 5 jugs and call it a day for a while. Also my car takes 6 quarts so $30 for 10 quarts and by 4 more jugs later on. I'm happy. I bought the UltraClean version too. No issues. Not the best brand or type I'm sure, but probably better than any Valvoline. I definitely would not try pushing this oil any more than 5k per change, but like I said I baby my cars. This is not Mobil or Royal Purple, nor Amsoil. (Those claim to last 10k miles) For someone who changes oil frequently, or less than 5k miles, I'm sure this stuff is more than fine. I'm glad I found this type of oil and price on Amazon.

excellent oil
First, those reviews showing the oil leaking in the shipping box from amazon? they are not able to leak because the package I received had the 5qt jug in a sealed plastic bag! How can that leak? It can't.. Also, the date code on this jug was new oil, 120th day of 2020, so end of april beginning of may of production. Today it's august, so about 4months.. not bad. Now.. onto the oil. I've been using it in my civic (1996) for a couple years now. I've had the oil tested by blackstone and it's tested out to be awesome! No wearing, and I actually forgot to change my oil for about a year! I did not mean to do that, but had a personal issues take my concentration. But.. usually I only do 4-6 months intervals. so the testing after 1 year showed the same exact low wear that I have seen at the 6month mark! It does make the engine more quiet. I'd say about 10-15%! The fuel economy has increased in my engine or I should say it returned to what it should be. It does not burn off at all. this is excellent oil! Good job Castrol! And thanks to amazon to have the lowest price around and delivered in 2 days! Thanks!

Best for changing your oil on a budget!
I usually spend the xtra $15 or so and go with Mobil 1 Annual protection....but sometimes we don't all have the xtra $ for that, and we don't want our vehicles engine to suffer for our failures in life (lol) ....so I fall back on Castrol when times are hard and I gotta keep The beast runnin smooth and happy! I don't have any scientific data to post on here, but I have never experienced any loss of performance, never sprung a leaky seal using it, and my vehicle....my baby....she is happy! She deserves better oil than Supratech or other bottom feeder oils you see on shelves across America....Castrol as at the top of upper mid grade in my book.

Castrol Up!
This stuff is hard to beat. One of the few non paraffin based oils out there. Personal preference I guess. My brother is an established certified mechanic and he swears by it. I don't care what oil you use carbon is a byproduct of combustion and it will be in your oil. Filters aren't that good yet. That carbon is like super fine sandpaper and there is wear involved. I replace my oil at around 5000 miles regardless. I've done spoon tests where you heat the oil up until it degrades, that's kind of interesting. Castrol oil regardless how much is considered synthetic is damn good oil. Im not saying its better than some others but it will hold its own. Oh by the way I live on a lake and own a boat with a 115 four stroke. Now that motor has gone through hell and it still purs. Yes I run Castrol in it religiously.
